Spong is one of the true embarrassments of the Episcopal Church, not simply because he is a bishop of the Church who spouts nonsense and heresy, not simply because he has little understanding of the views that he so vehemently attacks, not simply because his philosophy and pseudo-scholarship are fifty years out of date, but especially, most especially, because he really believes that he is intelligent, thoughtful, innovative, progressive, and enlightened. John Shelby Spong is absolutely clueless what an intellectual lightweight he truly is.

I had to laugh out loud at this one. It's absolutely true.

Spong isn't on a mission from God, he's on a mission from fraud.
