I don't know about that one. I would tend to believe that God would have his people live a life and exhibit Christlike behavior to others as if this day were your last. The end will come when the end will come...and God will then judge us. Something can be said of the wasted time and energy (not to mention pushing people away from the faith) that some Christians exhibit in pushing endtimes "doctrine" on some people...especially when that "doctrine" was "interpreted" by John Darby in the 1800's to his fame and profit. I'm pretty weary of any so-called minister of the faith (i.e. LaHaye, Vam Impe ministries, Benny Hinn, Hagee ministries; to name a few) that use and twist the Word of God for profit. They may have had good intentions, but I believe many have been sucked into these kind of distractions and personal interpretations of scripture that turn out to be detrimental to ones walk with God.
Your research is flawed.
Such doctrines have been reliably traced back to the first century church.
You can choose to believe the hogwash of the naysayers if you wish, of course.
GOD is for sharing Christ-like is for sharing, we all have a grave stake in not looking at the world through rose colored glasses, I think in our lifetime we are seeing some of the biblical prophets prophecy come to life....
