I have, sadly, heard those words used by so many arrogant preacher and evangelist and other flesh driven RELIGIOUS leaders, they have tended to end up a bit tarnished in my . . . feelings about them.
But I do recognize a very valid Biblical truth and principle involved in them.

I've been protected from anguish about the results of the thing - it was retribution by the Lord God. Sometimes people forget that the worst sins - the sins most offensive to God - are spiritual sins - and there is tremendous spiritual evil in that area. Re the "touch not" verse - in an intercessory prayer group I used to go to, I was once moved to pray "Purge us with hyssop!" Not long after that, a person in the group, who used to like to obnoxiously get "in my face" about stuff, had a family mishap, and tried to pray a curse on me! The Lord used that verse to comfort and assure me.
