I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. AMEN.
Will you now respond to the offense I previously mentioned?
You are quoting from the Apostle's Creed. That is merely a statement of orthodoxy and not a statement that you have believed and trusted in Christ and recevied him as Lord and Savior and that you have been born again of the Spirit.
I would guarantee you that most Mormons and Catholics and Moonies and Christian Scientists and Jehovah's witnesses and Bahai's would be willing to subscribe to that creed. You should know that reciting the creed does not save you. Understanding theology does not save you.
I would say that it is my impression that most of the Calvinists and most of the Armininians that take the time to post on these threads are saved. They may not have their theological heads on straight, but they are saved. If a full and correct understanding of theology is necessary to salvation, then I dare say that none of us are saved.
