Pope John Paul II and Pope Paul VI before him approved Tridentine services under the church's 1962 Missal for use worldwide.

Huh? I thought Pope Paul VI essentially suppressed the Tridentine Mass worldwide in favor of his own Pauline Mass, the Novus Ordo.

NO, Paul VI never supressed the Mass.

I don't want to get into a hair-splitting discussion of whether is was suppressed, or abrogated or obrogated.

It disappeared after 1969 - 1970, in a per centage of dioceses and parishes which asymptotically approached 100. Call it whatever you want, provided we keep that in mind.
