So, the 10 Commandments presented to Moses were not a direct revelation? The Preservation of Noah, his Kin and the animals, not a direct revelation? Serious question here, no flippancy intended.
I cited an ancient tradition in judging what is inspiration vs. direct revelation, rather than try to pick and choose what seems like direct revelation to me. I'm not sure why Moses receiving the law is not called direct revelation; it would certainly seem reasonable to do so. But God speaking to someone as he does throughout the OT is not revelation, but inspiration.
Noah building his boat is good ol' fashioned inspiration; I don't know why you picked that out of hundreds of other examples. Moses, however, did speak with the person of God in a very unique way, hence his need to shield his face, and its radiance afterward was a result of this. So I could see calling Moses' encounter a revelation if I rely on my own reckoning.
