On March 5, 2004 our local Diocese made a surprise announcement that our small Catholic school would be closed on June 4, 2004. We find ourselves in a moral and financial battle trying to keep Catholic education a reality for our children. We are asking for prayers and help in passing our message along. Please visit our website at http:\\www.savestjohns.com
Your thoughts and assistance would be appreciated more than you could know.
God Bless you,

Why, in this day of more and more people seeking the options in private schools, is your school closing?

Unfortunately, we don't even know all of the real answers. We are currently servicing 7 different school districts and have 8 families that cross state lines just to get to our school.
By closing our school over 1/2 half of our students will not be able to get to Catholic schools...the others will have to commute for hours daily. (Even the kindergarden babies).
That's why we're fighting so hard and asking people to hit our website and pass it around.
We've also been told that with 3-5 years after a parish losses a school, the parish is closed.

The cost of the other schools is also at least 50% more than we are paying now.

Sounds like you know some of the answer.
