Genesis 6:6-7 may spark some thoughts in this context.
KJV
And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
New KJV
And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
So the Lord said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."
RSV
And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and it greived him to His heart.
So the LORD said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the ground, man and beast and creeping things and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."
To: D-fendr
And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. I always thought this was just an accident of language. God has no need to repent.
