At the suggestion of a friend, though, I didn't bring any chametz into the house after I moved in, so my preparation for Passover has been relatively simple.

Assuming that means leavening, is this something you were able to do previously, or is it a new thing you can do cause of the new situation? I know we always have a well-stocked pantry (buy in bulk when it's on sale, ya know) and the idea of cleaning out anything leavened seems quite daunting, especially with young-uns around.

We have a total confluence this year, with Passover and both East and West Holy Week's coinciding. So we can wish everyone a good holy experience.

Bingo. In previous Passovers, I would avoid eating chametz, but because of the need to compromise due to my personal situation, I was unable to do more than that.
