Whats interesting is that it was not Calvinist doctrine that drove Steve to reject Christ was it ?

I believe Steven told me once that if Calvinism was true he would just as soon go to hell, I agreed with him.

A while back (when you asked) Snerkel and I came here and soon the cult folks stopped posting when backed into a corner, with persistent biblical questions. We did our bit, it was only up ti the rest of you to keep the wolf from the door .

Yeah you gods of calvinisim came by did a few hit and runs proclaimed that Gods chosen had been thru and all was right with the world, what really happened was every one stopped posting until you went away and then started posting again, you guys were really effective.

So which is it? Did you ever accept Christ as your personal savior or did you do it and mean it with all your heart and have now rejected Him? Are you at peace or do you have a nagging dread that you need to do something?

Not seeing what you are. She is rightfully chastising the folks who seek fellowship with unbelievers.

Can you tell your kids (future grandkids) not to believe in Jesus?. I couldn't. I dropped mine off at Sunday School almost every Sunday. That might help you with deciding the above.

Yes I did and, yes, I meant it. Now after 30 years, the past couple of which I've studied Hebrew Scriptures faithfully, I hereby now reject the concept of Yeshua as Messiah as set forth by those (Tinitarians) who reject YWHW as "Echad". You rejected Santa Claus as soon as sufficient evidence convinced you to do so as well. A tremendous weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I am surely at peace. But I don't expect you to understand and I say that without arrogance.

Yes I can tell them. Why wouldn't I tell them what I believe to be the truth?

Hey. Haven't seen you here in awhile:') To me there is a difference in seeking fellowship with unbelievers and maintaining a caring atmoshphere while witnessing. A pastor doesn't (I hope) go to someones door and start screaming you are going to hell. Instead they usually try to get to know people first and then ask about their beliefs and ask if they can share the Word of God. My husband is a Christian but because he has chosen to not be affiliated with any organized group, preachers treat him like open season. Some he enjoys talking with and others he sends packing. Any idea which get shown the door?

Ummm.

1) Because they are likely to get dizzy?

2) Because you just admitted that your two or three most recent "what I believe to be the truth"s turned out to be no more reliable than believing in Santa Claus.

Just the first two that come to mind. :-)

The visual of Mahony and his minimum security prison aka his "cathedral" going into the earth somehow seems right. Blessed Holy Week to you both! :)

Blessed Holy Week to you both! :)?

No fellowship here with someone who the calvinists believe are not saved, no Sir ree.

Discussion with those who are spiritually seeking ... which centers around the sharing of the gospel ... does not constitute seeking fellowship with unbelievers.

Don't take this offensively, because it shouldn't matter to you now anyway but if you can tell them this and not have any doubts that if they agree with you and accept your beliefs (which eventually they most likely will)that it will not affect their salvation then were you ever saved to begin with? Most people who were will tell you that this was a problem and they were not at peace.

No pukin' on FR, Mack. 8~)

...pride...

Isn't it more prideful to say you helped to make the decision that saved you, rather than to say salvation is of the Lord, completely His call?

Did God write the names of the elect in the Book of Life before the foundation of the world? If He did, who or what can erase those names?

We don't know who is saved, Mack. The wheat and tares grow side-by-side and can look alike until the harvest. Like babies born to believers who die in infancy and are saved by the Covenant between God and His church. Or like the thief nailed next to Christ who only knew of his salvation for a few hours before he died. Or like Kevin, who recently became aware of the everlasting comfort God provides those who glorify Him and enjoy Him forever and now has years of righteousness ahead of him. It's all God's call.

If God is God and knows the end from the beginning, and created everything for His own good purpose, then if you fall to your knees in repentence and praise, at whatever time God chooses for you to do so, then you are most likely among the elect and will live a life that reflects God's glory.

The difference between Arminians and Calvinists is that the Calvinists are happier. We sleep at night knowing God's in His Heaven, and everything is happening according to His will.

That's something we wish for everyone. One day...

Ummm. Its a magesterium that can make one dizzy.

2) Because you just admitted that your two or three most recent "what I believe to be the truth"s turned out to be no more reliable than believing in Santa Claus.

Is that what I admitted? I must have missed that. I wasn't equating Santa Claus with the validity anyone's spiritual experience. it was the easiest analogy to use pointing out what can happen to a belief system when the evidence starts piling up.

I rest my case that none of my answers have any credibility with you. Why don't you ignore me and joust with the calvinists? You seem bored.

And more humble. Don't forget "more humble".

Just from my seat? Neither appears to be true.

Don take this offensively but it doesn't matter to me one way or the other whether or not I was, ever "saved" as defined by Constantinian theology.

It was probably Dr. Warmoose, who was a Calvinist's Calvinist, who held that all unbaptised babies are unredeemed.

Most of the Calvinists disagreed with him and believed, like John Calvin, who had lost a child in infancy, that God's mercy covers the children of the elect.

Warmoose didn't have kids. I give him time.

Warmoose was banned. 8~(

He can't. He's a closet baptist. I just hope when he finally decides to come out he isn't carrying a tulip :')

Not so. I accept that you did believe what you claimed to believe and do believe what you now claim to believe. Don't confuse "accept" with "agree". You're just getting "more wronger". I'm just asking question to clarify a couple points and point out a couple weakness in the OSAS theory.

Why don't you ignore me and joust with the calvinists?

Too easy. With you I never know what I'll get from one moment to the next... keeps me on my toes.

You seem bored.

I was hoping to stay up to hear if Cindy had any news. Doesn't look like I'll make it though, the kids are sick. Have a good night!

That's what I was saying. Why should you care now? I don't understand all the talk around the issue though. A simple "I reject Jesus Christ as my Savior " from you might not be PC but would be much more to the point wouldn't it?
