The truth of the Gospel is always going to be offensive to some:

Mel Gibson is not an "anti-semite", this is shown in the fact that his only on screen role in the film is as the hand holding the nails. He knows that it was Mel Gibson, in his sin, who nailed Christ to the cross, and not the Jews or Romans alone.

It's a sad day when the 2,000-year-old Gospel story of Jesus Christ's death is labeled "kooky."

He obviously isn't much of a Talmudic scholar either. The Talmud states clearly that it was the Jewish authorities who arranged the trial and campaigned for Jesus' death. Are the authors of the Talmud anti-semites too?

I checked out some of this guy's articles on Beliefnet, and he's not a kook. He seems to be an intelligent, well reasoned columnist.

What I think we are witnessing is a group of people who are allowing their cultural paranoia, which is quite understandable considering their history, to cloud their judgment in the matter of this film.

The idea of a visual recounting of the Gospel inciting modern Christians to animosity toward or violence against Jews is nutty, totally out of touch with reality.

The modern anti-semites are moslems and their leftist soul-mates, and they're not going to view this film.
