Yeah, that's him, Quix. Don't know what others are saying about him, but from what I've heard he's got an ear tuned.

On a personal note I'm eulogizing and burying my mother Thur. Anyway last year I asked for prayer because I took over guardianship of her and her finances were a nightmare, to use a kind term.

Well, the Lord came through because my shyster looked everything over and she said she wanted copies, because she was going to do the things like what she saw?!? I did nothing, and can't even speculate or theorize how that mess straightened out in the natural. Again, thanx for your prayers

There are a LOT of Evangelicals who insist that prophetic 'words,' info from God stopped when John ran out of ink at the end of writing Revelation.

I used to go around and around with Harold Camping about that on his call in show [before he jumped off the end predicting the 2nd Coming].

He insisted as most of that ilk do that the written text of The Word is the only input any Christians since NT times get from God.

When I would ask about hadn't he ever been reading Scripture while burdened about an urgent prayer need and had a Scripture jump off the page while Holy Spirit caused a leap in his inner man? He'd waffle all over the place trying to avoid any hint of God speaking specifically to a specific individual in a specific way in the NOW.

A lot of people think that Acts 2 was for back then and not now. Charismatics strongly disagree. As do millions of Chinese who don't "know any better" than to take Scripture at face value and apply it and see God do miracles routinely.

I just received this interesting email which your post reminds me of, somehow.

----------------------------------

Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2004 22:19:13 -0800 (PST)

From: Lance A Sneath

Subject: Word for the Church: "I have a game plan."

All, Just wanted to share the following event/word I received on Sunday morning for your edification/thoughts:

I was awakened at 2:38 AM on Sunday, Jan 11, 2004, by the broadcast of the Kansas City Chiefs and Indianapolis Colts playoff football game that was yet to be played. It was coming from my speakers, but there was nothing in the natural to provide the source of sound.

My TV was off, and my computer was offline. The announcer, loudly and with great excitement, called a play with Peyton Manning of the Indianoplis Colts finding a receiver open down the field and completing a pass for a touchdown. He went on to describe how this was one of the finest days of Peyton Manning's career. The broadcast went off promptly at 2:41 AM.

I immediately was prostrate before the Lord and asked Him the meaning of this. He immediately replied:

"I have a game plan. My game plan is found in the record of the first church at the day of Pentecost in Acts 2:38-41.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”

With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.”

Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. The Holy Bible : New International Version. 1996, c1984 . Zondervan: Grand Rapids

"Many of the men in My church in America will sit in my house with their hearts and minds on football games. They care more for the game plan of their favorite ball team, than for My Kingdom. Many of the men of My church have several passions beyond Me. My word to them: 'Get with My game plan!'

[color emphasis NOT added though the last red was darker in the original]

If my church will return with a passion for My game plan as demonstrated here at the outpouring of My Holy Spirit at Pentecost, I will once again pour out My Spirit with great signs and wonders. Their will be great harvests and demonstrations of My Spirit's work. Those of my Kingdom who love My team will have much to be passionate about in the days ahead if they will devote themselves passionately to Me and My game plan!

Later that afternoon, as I ate dinner after church and watched the second half of the Chiefs-Colts game, I heard the announcer excitedly call the play for Peyton Manning throwing the same touchdown I heard nearly eleven hours earlier! What an amazing God we serve! Come on Church, let's get with His game plan!

Grace and peace,

Lance

And you for your prayers.

Glad your mom's struggle is over.

Blessed to hear the things sorted out as needed.

HERE'S THE FREEPMAIL I received. I only changed the denominational name (and made it anonymous per desire of the sender).

I'm sorry but as an active member of the Charismatic renewal in a mainstream denomination (I'm a [traditional mainline denomination] Charismatic) I must respectfully ask that you retract the assertions in your initial post which appear to claim that what you are posting speaks for all Pentecostals and Charismatics. You do not. Moreover it would be at best irresponsible for those of us who do not allow Words of Knowledge which have not each been repeatedly verified both in regard to Holy Scripture and then also prayerfully affirmed by the Holy Spirit to mature Christians who are have the charism of Spiritual Discernment as originating from God and being accurately interpretted.

Please understand that it is this unintentional appearance of arrogance, of being able to speak for portions of the Body of Christ with which the speakers are not more than vaguely familiar, evident in well intended statements from some of the less theologically astute portions of the Pentecostal/Charismatic portions of the Body of Christ on Earth which have caused credibility problems for the rest of us.

I understand that you believe what you are reporting is in fact a valid Word. That's not the point. Rather, please do NOT assume that simply because you believe it to be a valid Word, everyone else will also. I understand you believe that you are following Godly and proper standards for discerning the validity of a given Word. What you need to understand is that other portions of the Body of Christ have other standards which are NOT exactly coherent with those you espouse. Thus we do NOT automatically accept what you report as valid and it is therefore both inaccurate and untruthful to claim any sort of universal support among Charismatics and Pentecostals.

I would suggest that it would be much more realistic to simply state the particular denominational (or nondenominational) ministry you, or the writers you are posting here, are a member/members of; and simply own what you post as That which God has Given to that specific ministry.

As noted in my post I'm replying with this one, too, I agree.

Interesting.

There are just toooooo many sources saying incrementally significantly more and more intense things about these coming months.

I haven't even thought of posting half of them.

You mean like this?:

"The Christian economy, therefore, since it is the new and definitive Covenant, will never pass away; and no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ."

I think the operative word is "public".

That doesn't preclude private revelation. If the private doesn't contradict the public revelation received from Christ it might be trustworthy. If it contradicts the public it doesn't come from God.

Certainly Scripture is the solid foundation.

A lot of people fail to remember that Scripture--the Canon was decided on about 300 AD by

A GROUP OF BELIEVERS--evidently reflecting on 300 years of usage and Holy Spirit confirmation.

Which . . . is also the way Scripture in Corinthians 14:26-33 exhorts us to decide, discern about what's authentic etc.

I would also encourage a caveat that whole groups of people can still be led astray. But at least, a group of very prayerful, humble, discerning, spiritually gifted people decrease the likelihood of being led astray.

But, flawed critters that we are, it was still a group of flawed critters who decided, we believe by Holy Spirit's direction, on what the Canon consisted of--though there are still some arguments about that.

Quix, why does God speak in a pigeon mix of King James english, evangelical idioms and middle American vernacular?

Are you really serious about "ministering" to all of these people?

I once told Eldridge Cleaver he was full of it, but I hardly would have called that "ministering" - just telling the truth.

I think God must shake His head,

laugh,

walk away sadly

and cry

over a lot of what goes under the umbrella of Christian.

Ministering?

Welllllllllll NOT in the what's her name . . . ah yes . . . Monica style.

And yes, telling the truth IN LOVE is a critical, priceless, essential part of balanced ministering anything helpful to most anyone, at least most of the time, IMhO

The prophetic is increasing more and more as God wants His people to know what's going on in the spiritual realm. He has it all under His control and He has always warned His people about things to come. Some prophets operate under the realm of governmental shifts, such as Dutch Sheets and Kim Clement. God is very interested in the affairs in America for He created us for a divine purpose, one of which is to be a friend to Israel and another to send missionaries into the world with the gospel. What's wrong with making prophecies abouot politics? It's certainly the one big thing we're embroiled in these days.

I'm sure Quix meant it as something we charismatics are called by people who don't really like us much--charismaniacs (smile).
