CAMEROON: CHRISTIANS THREATENED (August 2004)
Excerpt: Foreign Islamists ('outside agitators') infiltrating northern Cameroon are reported to have 'literally inundated [northern Cameroon] with fliers inciting Muslims towards a hatred of Christians'. The Islamists are urging Muslims to marry and convert young Christian girls, as well as drive Christians from the region by raising rents or refusing to rent property to them. According to Bishop Yves Steven of Extreme North Province, some Christians have already been forcibly evicted from their homes.
