You can click on my name to find a site called Beginning Experience. I can't get it to come up right now, but it is there.
It provides a grief recovery weekend for those who have lost loved ones whether through death, divorce, separation, death of parent, death of child, etc.
FYI:
The phases of grief are:
Denial -- some people may deny that anything is going on; I couldn't believe that my husband had cancer, for instance.
Bargaining -- in my case -- promising God that I would be the best wife and mother if God did not take my husband through cancer
Depression -- no explanation needed
Anger -- no explanation needed. Depression and Anger are co-horts in the grief process -- it's like riding a roller coaster. Up then down, up then down. In my case I would fall asleep not even fixing a supper for my two sons, aged 10 and 16.
Acceptance -- moving on with one's life
Elisabeth Kubler Ross does not talk about the last one -- Reaching Out. Her book, BTW, On Death and Dying, goes into this on a deeper level.
A great book for kids is "Tear Soup". I can't tell you who the author is, but I'm sure you can find it.
