What Clemens did in the past has absolutely nothing to do with what happened yesterday. Granted, Zimmer charged Martinez, but come on...did he have to throw him to the ground? He could have backed off. And what about those hand-to-the-head gestures he made to the Yankee bench?
The Yankees and Yankee fans have the name for being boorish and tough, but Boston takes first place in the no-class dept.

The altitude of the pitch was at least a foot below Garcia's head. And threatening Pedro's life while taking five minutes to walk to first is not OK. Following it up by beating up a groundskeeper and trying to break Todd Walker's legs is also NOT OK. I would say "even a Yankees fan can't condone that", but I don't like to lie.</>

I don't recall commenting on Garcia's action. It appears from your response, you are defending Pedro with the actions of Garcia. Thats equivilent to the politician saying everybody does it.

Look, Garcia had every right to be ticked off. He didn't charge the mound with a bat in his hand like Manny did. Garcia had no business going into the bull pen and participating in whatever happened to the groundskeeper. He was wrong to do so. He had every right to take out Walker on the double play ball. Its his job to take him out. There was nothing illegal about his hard slide.

Bottom line, Pedro should have been tossed and his threatening to throw at additional batters' heads was blatently bush league. Pedro once again proved he's a punk, that cares nothing about anyone else but Pedro. He cares more about his contract than he does about winning or his teamates's wellbeing. If you can't separate reality from partisan allegience to one's team, that's understandable, but not excusable.

What Bill Clinton did in the past also had nothing to do with Arnold. Its funny to me that liberals can bring up what a Republican does AFTER they brushed what their own did.
I am not calling you a liberal, However What Clemmons did in the past was excused by your last post. Do you think Manny might have been thinking about Roger Throwing at Piazza?

The thread is a discussion about the Red Sox and the Yankees game 3.
It was Pedro Martinez who started the whole thing followed by Manny Ramirez. Then, Karim Garcia and Don Zimmer got into the act and you know the rest. This has nothing to do with Clemens past or present. He did not get himself into the fray. The ball he threw at Ramirez was barely inside.
Why should his altercation of two years ago involving Mike Piazza have anything to do with this? Apples and oranges.
And right...I'm not a liberal.

Item 1 Pedro Claims (and I am not sure I believe him) he did not throw at Karim Garcia intentionally

Item 2 Garcia takes a cheep shot at Todd Walker long after Walker has released the ball on the DP

Item 3 Posoda yells and point at his head Pedro repsonds back

Item 4 Garcia and Nelson kick a grounds crew member in the bullpen in the 8th inning. The guy has clete makes on his body

YOU call the Red Sox classless....you have proven my point
Yankee fans hold their clinch fist in the air when their guy does something agressive....but let the shoe be on the other foot....AND YOU CRY AND WHINE.
One last thing Don Zimmer is 72 years old and should have know better. Lets not forget he crossed over to the Red Sox side of the field to get to Pedro. Was that was classy move by a New York Yankee. 26 World Championships classy. The Greatness of the New York Yankees is tanted by Zimmer, Karim Garcia and Nelson. Yet we are talking about Pedro.

Oh give me a break. I haven't seen one sports commentator since yesterday who didn't say that it was Pedro who owed an apology for his tasteless behavior. Zimmer apologized. I watched the game. I saw him throw at Garcia's back. If he didn't duck, he would have been beaned. What happened in the bullpen with the groundskeeper has nothing to do with what went on on the field. Everybody said if Pedro pulled that stunt in NY, he would have been arrested, not just ejected from the game.
I'm not crying or whining. I'm just repeating the events of game 3 and I wouldn't have to do that if the Red Sox weren't such assholes.

NO you don't get a break...I have admitt that I beleive that Pedro threw at Garcia. HIT BY PITCH means you walk to first base. IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU GET TO TAKE OUT THE SECOND BASEMAN HARD ON A FORCE OUT LONG AFTER HE RELEASED THE BALL... that was really classy. Posoda and Zimmer yelling at Pedro for a hit by pitch was really classy. Zimmer running across the field to attempt to do what? hurt an oposing player? was really classy. Nelson and Gracia ( who I might add jumped the bullpen wall to get to the fight) kicking a grounds crew member was really classy.....who are you calling assholes? oh yeah I forgot youre classy Yankee fan aren't ...load with class. This conversation is over..... I don't talk to idiots no matter how much class they CLAIM to have

Pedro is the biggest jerk in all of baseball. His true colors showed Saturday...and was evident to anyone who watched baseball the past few years. He has no regard for the safety of other players, only about himself. If I was a Yankee player this weekend, I would have lost my cool at his behavior, and probably would have done worse. There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for threatening other players that they are next to get hit in the head. This f---ing jerk shouldn't be allowed to pitch again in the majors. He is a danger to any batter because he has no regard for their safety.
