Sure does. I "earn" a beer for every three miles I walk. I usually walk 7-10 miles a day so I can usually have 2 or 3. Today I walked 17 miles in anticipation of this game. I took a 12 mile walk through the woods at 5 this morning (saw the sunrise in the middle of a forest) and then walked another 5 miles doing yard work all day. But I've only had two beers so far and I think I'm done for the night. Red Sox postseason losses depress me. I think I'll turn the TV off and get into a good book.

Of course, your entitled to your impression.

It's not an "impression," nor is it an intrepretation. But of course, you're entitled to your bitterness.

Three double plays with no outs in each situation against the Red Sox sunk them. If they keep out of the DP, they probably win.

Its the Red Sox what do you expect. This is the team that continually redefines choking. Pick a new team.

Pedro martinez is the scumbag of the century.

Alomar get 2nd place!

This photograph of Roberto Alomar spitting in Umpire John Hirshbeck's face appeared in the January 19, 1997 New York Times

For a moment in time I thought maybe just maybe it would be nice to see Boston win. But I always like young at heart Don Zimmer and after this Pedro thing BOSTON WILL LOSE!

Pedro and Alomar are the same kind of no class trash players that should be suspended from baseball for a year.

My wife is always trying to keep us in this Weight Watchers' point system but I cheat quite a bit. I get out and exercise about an hour a day, mostly walking and a little weights, but I'm still bigger than most fullbacks.

It seems like the Yankees always dangle it right in front of the Red Sox only to snatch it away at the last moment. 1949, 1978 , 1999, this year. I wish I had a dollar for every time in the last five years alone I have said the day after a big game or big series "It's gotta suck to be a Red Sox fan". The Cubs and Chisox have gone longer without a title, but the Red Sox have been teased in a more tortuous way.

This post can more than likely be dragged out of mothball for the next hundred years.

Not bitter at all. I saw the Torre interview, but not paying close attention heard it different from what you did. I take from your reply that you are positive. That's good enough for me.

I don't believe in any of that superstition stuff. And it's a little early in this 7 game series to crown the Yankees the with the Pennant.

Of course, your entitled to your impression.

The ball was thrown 95 mph, an inch behind a batter's helmet but if you think THAT doesn't rate as a little "high and inside" location error, well I guess you are entitled to your eyesight and functioning brainpan. If you think that Pedro was pissed, had a batter he was going to send to first base anyway for the force, and that he was possibly throwing AT him ... well, I guess that's just eye of beholder too and conspiracy nonsense.

Next thing up, guaranteed, we'll get tinfoil reports that there was cursing in Spanish on the field.

Baseball is a great game. Sometimes I wish I wasn't bitter over the (ancient) strike. I don't follow the teams or players at all, but really enjoy playoff season.

Why isn't Pedro thrown out of the game for trash-talking? He basically threatened to hit a Yankee in the head!

...and this happened after the warnings were given by the umpires. Pedro should have been thrown out, Ramirez should have been thrown out and Zimmer too.

Me too .....when I could no longer use the game (or any other professional sport for that matter) to demonstrate sportsmanship to my kids I waited for the playoffs to get my baseball fix .

Go Cubs !......Stay Safe !

Your a careful observer. Did Torre say on TV that he thought that Pedro intentionally threw at Garcia's head? I though Torre was not so direct with his accusation.

1. Zimmer was coming at Pedro

2. I don't think Pedro actually hit Garcia. I saw it hit the bat (in the beginning).
