Riera fielding his position well. He just threw a 92 mph splitter.

It's time for Nomar to step up and be great.

Top of the order facing Rivera...Johnny Damon who is 3 for 3 today. First pitch is ball one...second pitch called strike.

Here comes pitch 3, in the dirt, 2-1. Next pitch, and this time Yankee fielding comes through and Damon is out on a weak ground ball to the pitcher.

Todd Walker with slumping Nomar on deck. Swings away for strike one. Deep drive to left where it is caught at the wall. Down to our last out with slumping Nomar who at least made a good play in the field last inning.

Nomar, with one swing he can tie the game and everybody will forget about the slump for a while. Strike one to Nomar. Weak grounder to Jeter and Nomar is out. Yanks three outs away from taking a 2-1 series lead.

3 up, 3 down, 6 or 8 pitches. Nice and efficient.

Nomar's a great player but nobody has yet found that piano that Ruth threw in the pond. Until they do....

Buckner was crossing the street yesterday and almost got hit by a bus. But it went through his legs.

I don't remember Rivera ever blowing a save in the playoffs.

I believe Rivera blew a save in the 1997 series against Cleveland. I think it was the ALCS, and he gave up a home run to Sandy Alomar, Jr. And as another poster stated, Game 7 of 2001 World Series.

Yeah yeah, Jeter's not looking so good in the field. Three errors -- I mean, "hits" to/through SS -- so far this series, wide throw to Johnson, etc etc etc

In the old days, you could expect a couple of base hits for $11 million a year.
