Tie run on first...Varitek up. Varitek has had three homers in the post season. A home will put the Sox on top.
First pitch is a ball...second pitch is a strik, Varitek going for the Mass Pike on that one. Then a popup in foul territory and it's on to the 8th. Yanks up 4-3.

Phew!

Why isn't Rivera warming up, or is he already ready? I think he's gonna pitch the last two innings.
To: Dog
Rivera puts the nails in the coffin so to speak.
To: Dog
Rivera. Geraldo. Also known as Jerry Rivers.

I wish Fox would quit it with all those ultra close-ups.
I much rather see what's going on behind the pitcher than see what's going on inside his nostrils.

Great post. I'm watching this from a NYC newsroom, checked this thread to see some opposing opinions on what has transpired. We're going berserk here.
I think we can all agree that this...is...AWESOME! This rivalry has kicked up another notch, if that's possible.

Timlin in relief for Pedro.

Why yank Pedro?
To: demlosers
Timlin can bring it pretty good. Were his stats good this year?
To: Senator Pardek
Cops took him.

Can't believe they pulled Pedro out. What are they saving him for? If the Sox don't win this game, Pedro likely doesn't get another start until April.

Jeter is such a clutch hitter. Bet you anything he gets a hit here.

I dunno but in the begiing of the game he was pitching like a guy with elbow problems. Hanging curves are sometimes a result of a pitcher with a bad elbow not snapping them off.

Nice recovery for Nomar. 2 down.

Yep, Timlin's throwing heat. ....But I'm glad Pedro's gone.
We need insurance runs badly. .....Good play by Nomar.
