Federal judge rejects all three of Schindlers' argumentsFriday, October 10th
Terri's parents want her to receive physical therapy. The parents of Terri Schiavo received another setback in federal court on Friday.
Judge Richard Lazarra rejected all three arguments by the Schindlers. He said he doesn't have jurisdiction in the case.
The arguments that were rejected by Lazarra were the Schindlers' attempt to have Terri's husband Michael removed as her custodian, their request to block the scheduled removal of Terri's feeding tube on Oct. 15 and their assertion that Terri's constitution rights are being violated.
Schiavo is the Pinellas County woman who has been in what some doctors call a persistent vegetative state since 1990. Lazarra said he agrees with the 19 other judges that said she wouldn't want to live this way.
The Schindlers said through their attorney that they'll continue their efforts to stop the removal of the tube that's been keeping Terri alive.

So, what this means is that they are going to let a woman slowly and painfully starve to death??? This cannot be! There are no words.

God help Terri and her family.
It will take nothing short of a miracle to stay Terri's execution.
The pro-death forces of Florida go about like a raging lion seeking those whom they may destroy.

I am not surprised. All the judges are interested in is killing innocent people, unborn and partially born babies, people dependent on others.
Putting to death murderers, well that is anoyjer story. They defend their lives to the uttermost.
But in a fwe years form now, judges such as lazrra and the Pinellas Circuit Court judge will be dependent upon the services and good will of others for their lives.
At that time, another judge, following the example they set, will say, "Give them the injection."
As you sow, so shall you reap.

I can't believe that. These people think they have the right to kill someone who didn't ask for it and whose family doesn't improve?
Who's behind this anyway?

Will the supporters of Terri still vote for Jeb Bush for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination? Will his letter and brief be sufficient to bring us around? Of course, he may have no serious primary opposition. I would imagine that he will be the GOP choice against Hillary Clinton.
Why won't Bush call a special session and get a law that forbids starvation/dehydration of the disabled? The Bushes are supposed to be such friends of the disabled. Remember Bush I gave us the apparently toothless Americans with Diabilities Act in 1990.

My heartfelt prayers are with Terri and her family. I have a young daughter who is similarly disabled and this ruling is just unthinkable to me. I will keep a candle burning for Terri and her family. May God be with her and watch over her.

I know that is the gospel, but we so seldom see the "evil" "reap" what they have "sown," do we? In fact, in what I call the Age of Clinton, evil seems stronger and more entrenched than ever!
To: commonsense04
If Terri had been stricken BEFORE she met Michael Schiavo, all of this would have been moot. She may have recovered long ago.
Terri's "crime" was to choose the wrong spouse.
To: d5055
I know you must be crestfallen about the evil in your state of FL. FL has the highest violent crime rate in the nation and the third highest abortion rate, behind CA and NY. Still, I hate to see you uproot yourself over events that are beyond your control. God has seemingly chosen not to intervene on the side of justice. We are told not to question God. So you should not inconvenience yourself by leaving your state of residence unless that is your desire otherwise. Other states in the future will starve and dehydrate future "Terris" and reward future "Michael Schiavos."

I agree Theadore.
In fact, several years ago, I mentioned to my Mother that you never hear of something bad happening to a sob.
Her reply was, "Son, just remember that all the joy that they will ever have is in this life."
And while the grist mill of God grinds slow, it grinds exceedingly fine.
35 years passed after God pronounced judgment upon Jezabel before he executed it.
So, while sometimes I become frustrated, I don't get discouraged.

All the judges are interested in is killing innocent people, unborn and partially born babies, people dependent on others. Germany's best known Socialists, the Nazis, called it a "life without a life". Such life, they felt should be terminated so that the nation's resources would not be wasted. They were trying to convince the general public to euthanize the German mentally retarded for the betterment of society. This is the fruit of a national, one payer, health care system.

More power to you if you don't get discouraged in this age of fast food and instant gratification. Michael Schiavo is on the top of the world tonight while I sit dejected at my computer!
To: Theodore R.
If Michael Schiavo wants her dead because of money, maybe we should be bringing this matter to the attention of the very rich. Ask someone to buy him off. Give him his million and let her go to her parents' care.
To: Graymatter
I read that the parents offered to "buy him off" and he refused in order to carry out "Terri's wishes." I don't know if the Schindlers are a wealthy couple. I have never read how Mr. Schindler made his money. Terri's brother is a teacher in a Catholic school; so he is not wealthy from his occupation.
To: GulliverSwift
Who's behind this anyway?A cheating husband that probably tried to kill his wife. And then there's the "money". And then there's the "lawyers". And then there's the dirty "judges".
Read all about it at her family's website. I don't recall the link but you can find it and a lot of other good informaion at www.glennbeck.com
