I like Rodger the way he speaks and presents. He doesn't grate. I love to hear his latest takes on illegal immigration.....Being that lives on the front line.

I love Michael Medved and miss listening to him.

I live in Tennessee now and our local talk radio host who follows Rush, Phil Valentine, is apparently devoting his whole show to Rush, or as long as there is interest by callers.

Oh my gosh, that was a total typo. I meant to say that Michael sounded like he WAS fighting back the tears.

I don't think less of Rush because he's an addict or more of Rush because he's going to fight it. He's an addict.

I do think Rush will measure his words more carefully moving forward. Instead of denigrating those who run into problems, I'm sure he'll be more measured in his response as he should be.

I am getting tired of folks putting this entertainer on a pedestal for checking into rehab and admitting his addiction. He is no role model, never has been....

That said, he's a hell of an entertainer and I'm glad he's on our side. This problem makes him no greater nor any less of a person, just more human. As humans, we all fail. And most of us get back up. Rush will do the same...not more, hopefully not less. Today, he just became more "human" to his audience and perhaps to himself. It's a good humbling experience.

I wish him well.

Medved's a good man, and one of my favorite hosts. I only wish the best for Rush.

Michael is taking calls from liberals as well as Rush supporters. One guy just called Rush a liar about how he got addicted. How would this guy know??? Michael said not even Rush's closest co-workers knew he was addicted.

Fighting addiction is a tremendous challenge and a lot of people lose the fight. The biggest losers, in my opinion, are the one's who never try to fight their addiction.

By the way, last week I heard a woman here in LA talking on the cell phone to her dad. She was GIDDY that Rush was having problems and thought it was wonderful payback. It was disgusting. I was saying Tehilim (Psalms) and I just looked up at her and glared. She of course, ignored me and then laughed about how President Bush's approval ratings were going down. This is totally disgraceful and cruel behavior to me.

Never been addicted, have you? Judge not lest ye be judged.

CG - Don't worry. Be sure and take the day after election day 2004 off and visit some freaky city like San Francisco. Hahaha! You will get more payback looking into those shellshocked faces than this girl will see in her lifetime!

One thing I always liked and respected about Michael Medved was that he wasn't afraid to let liberals have plenty of say. Sometimes it seemed like to much to me, but I like that better than talk radio where liberals aren't engaged in the dialogue.

My blood pressure would rise if I had to listen to what you described on. It will be interesting to see how liberals react to Rush once he finishes his rehab. Lots of opportunities for them to be hypocritical, something they're already good at.

Liberals are disgraceful and cruel people. They celebrate when conservatives run into hard times.

Fortunately, no one on the FR is so small-minded as to do the same thing when tragedy hits prominent liberals.

I have sympathy for addicts. It's the oxycotin I despise. I had a neighbor on that crud and it is crud. There have been some interesting heroin and opium addicts in the arts and literature. Coleridge, Poe.

I don't think oxycotin will produce such "interesting addicts"

Stay tuned. Michael is now talking to a nut who claims Bush, Rove, and Schwarzenegger are the 4th Reich. And Michael sounds like he's still upset from last hour and is going to tear this guy apart.

Oh, you're absolutely right about that. Oxycontin is vile, evil stuff. However, I understand its pain-management properties are not to be sneezed at.

Apologies for snappin' at you like that. I'm a little edgy today.

No problem because based on my uncharitable comments about legalizing drugs that's what you should do. This oxycotin neighbor caused $500 damage to my air conditioner that he will never pay. He was trying to do me a favor and fix it. The synthetic opiate drugs (oxycotin=hillbilly heroin) are more vile than the natural ones such as heroin and cocaine

I was very upset with my favorite number 2 host, Micheal Medved because of the (R)nold thing, but I too hope that he subs for Rush, and I too will be praying that he can overcome his addiction and his chronic back pain.

I don't remember Rush denigrating anyone for running into a problem. He has consistently expressed frustration with people not accepting personal responsibility for the mess they may find themselves in.

Re-read Rush's statement on his addiction to pain killers. Not once did he blame the doctors, the pain, stress or anything else. In fact, he said "the responsibility for this is mine".

Please, get the man's past words right and give him credit for not only "talkin' the talk" but also "walkin' the walk".

Sheez.
