NARAL Begins Search for New President to Replace Michelman

NARAL is beginning its search for a new president to replace Kate Michelman, who has announced she is stepping down next spring to work to defeat President George. W. Bush and care for her ailing husband.

Michelman says she wants to stay on board in order to lead the organization's effort to put on a national march for abortion in April 2004. An exclusive LifeNews.com report in August revealed that the AFSCME labor union is lending support to the pro-abortion march organizers.

However, the fact that Michelman will not step down from the position until late April is due in part to the fact that the organization will need six months to find Michelman's successor, as there is no heir apparent.

Sally Patterson, chair of the NARAL Pro-Choice America board of directors, said that it will be "very difficult to fill Kate's shoes." She added that the organization has begun a national search for a new president who has "the stature and accomplishment to build on (Michelman's) work and take us into the future."

A Democratic official who is close with NARAL authorities says the organization may try to find a nationally-known political figure, such as a member of Congress, to replace Michelman.

However, representatives of other pro-abortion groups say NARAL is looking for the "next Michelman," -- a 40-something year-old woman who is old enough to know the political ropes, but young enough to lead the organization for the next decade or longer.

According to a recent article in Roll Call magazine, some observers have speculated that two leading candidates include Gloria Totten, a former NARAL Pro-Choice America political director who is currently the executive director of the pro-abortion political group Progressive Majority, and Cecile Richards, former member of the NARAL Pro-Choice America board and former chief of staff to pro-abortion House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). Richards now leads the organization America Votes.

It is not known whether either woman is interested in the position.

On Saturday, Michelman told about 100 Georgetown University students gathered for a pro-abortion rally that the April march will "play a key role in sending a message to America's leaders."

I'm available for the position! Of course, they might not like my rendition of the acronym. How's National Abortion Rights Abolition League? Catchy?

A thought from a recent past president of the
Federation of Americans waiting to be born:

"Abortion? I am all for it…
for “certain undesirable organizations”

"Abort N.O.W., NARAL, and Planned Parenthood!
Abort Roe v Wade and all “laws” that allow the
MURDER of my unborn friends!"

"Life is Sacred from the moment of conception!"

They don't need anyone to head up their murder squad, they have all the media on their side. We have most of Americans believing in contraception and abortion. And now they want to promote the "accident pill", I just heard PP's add for that one on the radio and it's been all over TV. So I reiterate, they don't need a leader, they have most everyone who has power on their side. The Bishops are nearly silent and the average bloke and blokette don't give a hoot. Politicians can get elected by paying lip sevice and pointing to infanticide promoting Democrats and say, "see I'm not that bad!"

We are in a crisis here and whether or not they find another witch to promote their poison is unimportant. We live in a society that has been shaped to promote the disintegration of the family through abortion, contraception, divorce and two-income families. We have children who must leave home and live at great distances from their families in order to have a livelyhood. This was documented back in the 1920's by G K Chesterton. This industrial capitalist system that we enjoy depends upon to demise of the family and anything that promotes the family will be done away with. LOng ago the folks who had control of the media began a champaign to destroy any idea that a large and strong family was a good thing because they knew that industry couldn't support one man who had a family as large as he and his wife desired. The question we should be asking ourselves is whether or not this system is really making people happy. Once the family has been abolished completely it will be too late to turn back. We will have ended our civilization and a new one will commence, eventually after a prolonged "Dark Ages."

Ah, but there are at least three that I can think of: hillary rodham clinton, junior senator from New York, olympia snowe the senior senator from Maine and her little friend and constant second, the junior senator from Maine susie collins.

Any of these three would do just fine, for each has never seen a baby they didn't want to kill, all three embrace abortion through the first month of a babies life outside of the womb. And all three have obviously choosen to serve the god of death.

Let him die.

No. That's too passive. Better to crack open the back of his skull, suck out his brain, and put his body through a grabage disposal.

Excellent point, but if you put him through the garbage disposal, you can't harvest them organs and sell them to labs.

An exclusive LifeNews.com report in August revealed that the AFSCME labor union is lending support to the pro-abortion march organizers.

Isn't AFSCME the government workers' union? So our tax dollars pay the salaries for these lowlifes who turn around and support organizations like NARAL? Does anyone else have a problem with this?

Yes...it stands for the 'American Federation of State County and Muncipal Employees.' Big Union equals Big Labor equals Big Democratic money providers equals Big Liberal mentality equals Big Government...it is their own daisy chain.

I wonder though if the average road crew worker knows that he 'supports' this?

>>I don't know, but it just seems to me that, given how much NARAL hates fetuses and unborn children, the next President of NARAL should be someone who never was a fetus or an unborn child. <<

Hmm. I think DEMONS from HELL aren't either of those things... so maybe they should send Hilary an email.

That look is common to those with a dead soul. They parade around through society with an air of enlightened superiority, while their soul is as dead as a pet rock. You don't want to ever be in their presence because the evil possessing them is chillingly real!

Indeed. Not just flesh and blood, but principalities and powers.
