TOM MCCLINTOCK DAILY EDITION - 10/8/03 - GOING DARK!
Posted on 10/08/2003 7:10:21 AM PDT by Rabid Dog
As many of you know this has been a local, regional, national news and views thread. I want to thank all of you that have respected its intent. When I first started this thead, I was on the fence between Arnold and Tom. Within a week, it became clear that Tom was the man I could respect and support.
Within a month it became clear that the CA G.O.P. was not an organization I could respect and support and so I have switched parties and will be changing my screen name to Rabid Dog.
Tomorrow I am entering Freeper Detox and will be drying out for a week or so but am looking foward to discussing the changes in California under the leadership of our new governor - ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER!!

deep sigh...
Nothing like the spirit of unity on display here today.
Makes the term "Sore Winners" make ya wonder why some are even here, huh?
Even Arnold's appeal for unity and extending the olive branch fall on the deaf ears of his "supporters" here at FR. Go figure. Is the ultimate goal of some here to do nothing more than to continue an assault on FR itself and its stated mission?
Just WinWhine, Baby!!!

We have the means. We just don't use them as effectively as we could.
Internet -> Talk Radio -> General Discourse
It may not be ideal, but it's enough.

Take out Gray Davis and the trash
He won't be spending your cash
We're going to shove him out the door
He won't be governor no more
Yakety yak
He won't be back
Just finish cleaning up his room
Let's see that dust fly with that broom
Get all that garbage out of sight
We're going to party election night
Yakety yak
He won't be back

Increasingly irrelevant after
.
Need to get the real conservatives to exodus and form, or join another and have:
- Demoncrats
- Rinocrats
- Independent/Consititutional/Conservatives

You forgot to add..."before it's too late".
Or is it already with the jellified backbone of conservatives?

Excuse me but it is the McClintock supporters that are throwing fits here and squealing about leaving the party. So much for unity.

Free Republic is an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. The GOP site is here : http://www.gop.org/

Can you sill vote for Tom McClintock or other "Republicans", in the primaries as an Independent? Pretty sure you can - not too long ago voters in this state approved primary voting across parties, and I don't think it was reversed in court.

If you share his values why do you not stay in the Republican party as well? Just asking. I'm not trying to start an argument. If you don't want to answer I'll understand.

All of you fought your best for a cause you believed in. Although I didn't agree, I admire that you didn't attack Schwarzenegger as you could have. I hope that all of you and Arnold are able to work together to make California, the state of Reagan, great once again. You have my warmest esteem and respectWell said!
To: SONbrad
Why do you come on this thread?
I know it's clearly labelled.
Go start a ARnold Victory thread of your own.
Seems like a reasonable thing to do.
If you only seek to draw others out and then engage them , that doesn;t seem very noble to me, for some reasons.
Unless you and many others are showing your true agenda today. To Keep FR from moving on and continue to work on its #1 mission.
Just my humble assessment. No hateful words are being offered towards you or others in my post, btw. :-)
To: Carry_Okie
That doesn't explain why the posts is blaiming Arnold supports for showing disunity today. Does it? Nope.
In fact, your post shows just the opposite. That 'splains it Lucy!

Because if I stay in, it shows that I support how the leaders are managing the party - and I vehemently don't agree with the way they handled this recall or the last several elections.
I can't change it from within because it doesn't seem to matter how the majority votes on party issues - because it is overridden in backroom deals.
I think the only thing that might make an impact is a little less of my time (precinct walking, manning registration booths) and a little less money.
