Statement by Governor Dean on the California Recall ("It's All About Bush, whiiiiine!")

Statement by Governor Dean on the California Recall

"Today's recall election in California was not about Gray Davis or Arnold Schwarzenegger. This recall was about the frustration so many people are feeling about the way things are going. All across America, George Bush's massive tax cuts for the wealthy are undermining state budgets, causing cutbacks in services and increases in local property taxes. Were recalls held in every state, it's quite possible that 50 governors would find themselves paying the price for one president's ruinous national economic policies. Tonight the voters in California directed their frustration with the country's direction on their incumbent governor. Come next November, that anger might be directed at a different incumbent...in the White House."

Yep, that's their talkin' points:

"We don't like the Republican President so we, a democrat state, voted by a landslide to kick our RAT governor out on his clymer and voted by a landslide to elect a Republican Governor."

So, Howie, let me see if I have this right...

California just threw one Democrat out, rejected a second Democratic option, elected a Republican and gave a combined vote of over 60% to Republicans...

...and the Republicans should be afraid in 2004?

Sure. You betcha

Let me see if I can explain myself better. McCauliff says people voted Grey out because they're mad at Bush. So, that would imply that those who voted FOR Gray AREN'T mad at Bush. We all know BS is mad at Bush so the point is this: If Terry McCauliff is right then BS should have voted against Gray.

Just you wait. Tommorrow the voters will really get even by smashing their faces into your fists and crunching your knee with their groins. Then you will see!

with apology to W.A.

It won't. The anger in California was caused by events specific to California, especially Gray Davis's actions.

The new spin is that the election was not against a tax and spend liberal but against the establishment.

The Democrats are looking for a 1994 repeat and cannot understand that what was rejected in both elections were socialists, who happened to be the 'establishment' at the time.
