"We conservatives are all saddened by the news that Rush Limbaugh is being investigated by law enforcement authorities for illegal buys of prescription painkillers."

Here's a so-called "conservative" that doesn't seem to believe in the concept of "innocent until proven guilty" that our legal system is founded on. I would like to know how to contact this moron, so that I can give him hell when this all shakes out and Rush is proven innocent!

I had a double hernia operation back in the summer of 2000. My wife picked up the prescribed bottle of OxyContin on the way home. I lived in a blissful dream state for two days until the side effects started. Then I was dreadfully sick with cold sweats and nausea until we finally figured out it was the OxyContin. It took another two days until it left my system.

Where do you get that??? Here's what she said:

Was there anything accusatory about that? Anything judgmental? No. Rush apparently is being investigated. It was a statement of fact. There was no passing of judgment whatsoever. Lighten up.

"innocent until proven guilty" is indeed a principle which our legal system is founded. However, when evidence appears strong, there is no obligation for persons who are NOT the legal system, to have to meet its stringent standards. Our lives are in two realms, legal/government and social... For example, just because a court declared O.J. Simpson "not guilty" doesn't mean I'd want to live anywhere near the murderer. Most thinking people, in light of the overwelming evidence, think the court miscarried justice there--and will act accordingly. It's not in our power to do legal sanctions, which is fine and good, but common sense tells us O.J. got away with murder...

The rag National Enquirer apparently has been working on this for over a year....and chose to dump on Rush at the time of maximum exposure (an awfully dirty thing to do to sell newspapers...but typical). Yes he's innocent by law, until a court proves otherwise, however, we as common sense people, and conservatives have to face the fact that A)its a legal and HIGHLY addictive drug B)its possible Rush got hooked while under the care of a Dr., and most damaging C) Rush has not denied the charges, only refused to address them.

I think the author addresses the issue in a caring way--as while we can hope for the best (that its all a made-up smear to shoot-down Rush) we should prepare for the worst (which is plausible, but certainly not proven).

"So-called" because she exercises independent thought and judgement and doesn't march in lockstep defending Rush like, well like all the Clinton apologists?

Grow up! You and a lot of the other lockstep "conservatives" here.
