Thank you Norm. You know I have done a lot of soul searching in the last week. When the allegations got the thickest, I had to question very deeply whether my initial assessments could be sustained. This was not an easy decision. When the initial reports came out Thursday, I refrained from making much comment for 48 hours while I let the charges sink in.

On Saturday morning I sat down and contemplated the issue of the charges made against Schwarzenegger. I actually came up with reasons to vote for McClintock and Schwarzenegger. The groping charges were very difficult for me to overlook. I don't respect men like that. In the end I had to look at Bustamante and Davis to reach my final conclusion.

I don't believe I had much of a choice but to give Schwarzenegger the benefit of the doubt in light of the charges being leveled in the last couple of days before the election. I will not reward the Times or the Demcorats for operating in this manner.

Both deserve to be taken down, even if this man is somewhat flawed. If we find he is futher flawed, I will join democrats in removing him, but they better have a damned good reason.

One major thing to consider regarding the charges: Don't you think that if the charges could stand up to scrunity, they would have made them weeks ago and spent weeks harping on them. The very fact that they sprung it last minute, shows that the charges woud disintegrate upon close scrunity, as some of them already being shown to be totally false.

Believe it or not, I am not perfect either.

While I can throw as much mud as some are so prone and inclined to do lately, the fact that so many charges were sat on so long must also be considered. Tom has certainly said as much in noting that we should be suspicious of the lateness of the levelling of these and other charges, notwithstanding that arnie has plead mea culpa to some bad behavior already.

While Arnie admits he has behaved badly, and quite frankly, maybe dangerously in some cases with respect to taking chances of running afoul of an angry boyfriend of one of the groped or squeezed women, he has been willing to admit that he was not white as snow, in effect, that he had done things that now, in retrospect, could be prosecuted in today's climate on the basis of sexual harassment.

I am not pleased that he said what he said about clinton being prosecuted for things that were "not as serious or prosecutable" as many definitely felt they were. We can see now clearly where arnie inwardly probably had a lot of reasons personally to feel that way, not all of them completely on the up and up as his own recent admissions of bad behavior would indicate. Do we hang him for that , however? The US Senate is very much suspect here a swell for not doing their sworn duty, even as the House did pass articles of impeachment..

Is he lucky and getting a free ride, due to celebrity or whatever? Maybe so to a certain degree, but there is a larger lesson here that he has earned and will be reminded of all too frequently in the days and weeks ahead should the recall succeed and he gets the most votes in the next day or two.

That lesson is one that says there is no replacement for honesty with one's self and to one's family and friends.

Maria may be a shriver but I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt that she may be a liberal but she is not a true Kennedy as we have come to know and criticize many Kennedys over the years for licentious behavior and their own patterns of boorish behavior by many in the clan and offspring that old liberal Joe begat.

The one thing that I would remind you all is what Jim also said is that Jim (and I and others as well) will and must be diligent in taking arnie to task as it is warranted and not allowing him or others to just go back to the ways we are fighting so hard to turn our govt away from.

So, No , this is not a get out of jail free card for arnie, but rather a statement of qualified support contingent on his honesty and forthright dealings with and for the people of this state and country.

Not many immigrants have risen to the prominence that he may soon attain. It is in our interest that we be both at his side to support and guide him as well as to chastise him and critique him as he seeks to govern in a fair and open manner.

Anything less on our part is a dereliction of our own duties as citizen soldiers in an army bound and sworn to fight the enemies within that would forever destroy the republic we dare not foresake nor any longer dare in neglecting the safeguarding thereof.
