AN DIEGO (AP) -- Gubernatorial front-runner Arnold Schwarzenegger acknowledged that he has "behaved badly" to women and offered an apology Thursday.

Schwarzenegger's remarks, as he kicked off a four-day bus tour of the state in the final days of the recall campaign, came after a Los Angeles Times story published Thursday in which six women accused him of sexually harassing and groping them.

"Staying on the highroad should always be the place for conservative Republicans and electing people who are conservative minded candidates is the only way to go."

Agreed...fortunately, we usually have a primary to sort out these sorta disagreements...MUD

Actually, I was aware of the "refuting" witness but didn't have time to make the timeline/accusation link. Thus, thank you again....

Nope, Arnold did not refer to the LA Times charges. If I'm wrong, you should easily be able to quote his words where he says "I acted like a pig" or "I grabbed married woman's breasts".

In fact, those words are not his at all.

Again, don't let yourself get used by your real opponents!! The Indian casinos are sponsoring McClintocks ads hoping to get Bustamante in office, not McClintock. The LA Times dumped this story now to hurt Arnold and help Bustamante. That is obvious, please see through the hype.

How utterly predictable. Your nonsensical rantings have quickly become boring.

Feel free to go on supporting the unsupportable. If and when the next bombshell drops, I'll be back to ask whether you've come to your senses yet.

I think its fair to say, the Arnoldnauts have been caught supporting and defending an abuser of women and a slight of hand liar! The blame for that bad decision lies with themselves. Instead of coming front and center and admitting to this mistake, they're trying to elbow their way out and blame the anti-Arnoldnauts for their own personal shortcomings. That's pathetic and shameful.

Absolutely correct.

Still no answer, huh? Maybe you can hope real hard that something will turn up.

Meanwhile, you can allow your wishes to be your truth. It makes life a lot easier for you, I guess.

If I remember correctly, Jim Miller lost the nomination at the convention. Coleman was recruited to run as an independent AFTER Miller would not do so. In fact, Miller ran against Warner in `96 over Warner's stab in the back.

Our daughter nailed it. She said:
"I don't think Arnold is sexy at all.
I'm not impressed because he's a movie star.
I'm voting for him because he doesn't have to be doing this. He's doing it because he loves California."

I'd like to know when your daughter will jump into politics....we need her :-)

Wow, I'm envious that you got to see Issa and Arnold! You're right about the fact that it isn't hero-worship or raging hormones that attract most of us to Arnold. The endorsement and help from George Schultz, Howard Jarvis, Milton Friedman and most especially, Thomas Sowell, were what made me look again, and like what I saw.

Arnold says he acted badly and apologized? Wow. Would that a Democrat would ever do that: Inouye, Kennedy (x2), Condit, or Klintoon. Never mind; it seems that only Republicans are asked to apologize for their pasts.

I bow to yer better recollection...in any event, if MC had designs on a Senate seat he couldda run in the primary, thereby indicating that his late push was simply a ploy to keep a very-qualified GOP candidate (North) from knocking off the lowlife Chuck Robb.

I also believe there may have been a little self-preservation in Warner's trechery as he had slotted George Allen for Robb's seat and probably wouldda lost to an Allen challenge were North to have taken the other Senate seat.

Respectfully, what has it found? It's way to pandering? It's way to the left of center? I see very little left of the Goldwater/Reagan party.

Ah-nold. Puhleeze.

HAHAHAhahahaha!!!
I'll have to tell her that.
Can see her eyes rolling now....

She definately thinks for herself.
At age 9 she was a confirmed ditto-head, and informed us that a 'conservative' is "someone for who they believe they should EARN their own money."

Can we not have Republicans voting for a conservative, experienced, and decent man? Is that so far-fetched?

That would be about 15%.

I expect Schwarzenegger to win and Davis to lose.

Unfortunately, I don't see McClintock winning a State race without alliances. He (and his supporters) have to learn how to build alliances. You can't tear down the subgroups you want to vote for you.

Spoken like a true, powerful Republican woman! I applaud you.

A total fraud.

But a winner come Oct. 7............

Don't you like it when a Republican can win a statewide race in CA? Now take this win and begin to build a conservative direction from it rather than bitch and moan about 'tock not getting his governorship that he felt entitled to...... There can be a bright side to most things if you choose to look for it.... Or you can bitch and moan some more....

"Sigh. Arnold apologized in response to specific allegations raised by the LA Times."

But he didn't apologize in regard to any of those specific allegations in particular.

Couldn't agree more. Slap the guy! Unless you think he might get violent, then just yell for help.

Was that the last shoe to drop?

They were warned. Now it is too late. Too many absentees have been cast. We either win this thing with Arnold, or it is three more years of Grayout. Sigh.
