I can't believe out of all the people that I would bet on never to give in, it was him.

Conservatives do tend to fold easily when actually confronted with controversy. The Dems know how to fight and survive.

How many attempts at speakership did it take to replace Newt? hmmm.
Trent Lott comment sank him from Senate leadership.
Michael Savage--actually survived longer on MSNBC than Limbaugh did on ESPN.

Conservatives talk principles, but seem to cut and run when the least bit of controversy happens. (I won't even mention the Senate Judiciary Committee filibuster fiasco.)

It's not about cutting and running. It's about knowing that the Liberal hate machine has a nuclear missile pointed at your forehead and they WILL use it. They are not known for playing by "rules".
