I have to thank another FReeper, whose name escapes me at this early hour, for initially pointing out that Wilson's own official biography identifies his wife as Valerie Plame. If keeping her identity secret was a priority for him, his bio could either have not mentioned his family at all, or it could simply say he is married with four children and let it go at that.

I have to thank another FReeper, whose name escapes me at this early hour, for initially pointing out that Wilson's own official biography identifies his wife as Valerie Plame.Miss Marple.
I did notice that his official bio doesn't list her occupation nor her employer, though. Just her name and that they have two kids. Not exactly the stuff of spy novels.

Forward this info to the news organizations, I have been, and the more of us who do so, the better chance they start reporting the facts

Yes, Harpu posted the bio first,
Who is...AMBASSADOR JOSEPH C. WILSON, IV back in early July. Frankly, I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that
all of the "outing" was done by Amb. Wilson and/or his wife.

This whole thing is so stupid.
She was an ambassador's wife. Anybody with something to hide would hide it from an ambassador's wife every bit as thoroughly as they would hide it from a known spy.
The fact that she was never a spy in the first place just adds to the silliness of this brouhaha.

I did notice that his official bio doesn't list her occupation nor her employer, though. Just her name and that they have two kids. Not exactly the stuff of spy novels. True .. but the claim is that she is known as an agent by her maiden name of Plame
So way publish her FULL maiden name? .. that is asking for trouble
Why not use just Valerie Wilson .. or just Valerie .. or better yet .. don't mention her name at all
Unless that is what Joe Wilson was trying to do .. start trouble?

Not only that, but in at least one of his rants, Wilson whines that "they" also dug up and released her maiden name. Some digging--just google for it, and there it is, published by none other that Wilson himself, in his bio.

Yesterday on FOX, Brit Hume was asking the beltway boys about her and they said that they thought that she was an intelligence analyst, not an agent, and that the release of her name didn't actually endanger her.

Also that Paul or I forget his name but he is finally in the US and plans to tell how Hillary ripped him of 2 mil. Apparently he has proof. she never claimed the money
Yup, Clintons stay true to there mess ups. Everyone and everything they touch they destroy. I want to say Paul Reich is the guy. Boy I wish I could remember his name.
I suspect clark will get smashed in the next week or two and it will serve him right for letting the Clintons run his pres campaign

Check your facts. She was a spook. The CIA admits this much.
I'm not taking up for Wilson. It's just that I've seen about 50 FReepers claim that she was a mere analyst, based apparently on Novak's unsourced assertion, and Novak's claim is contradicted by the CIA.
As for your other claim, I would think it is very likely that an "ambassador's wife" could learn a great deal of things from foreign "ambassador's wives." It's not a bad cover - gives her reason to be there, access to contacts, diplomatic privileges, etc.

Come on. Her maiden name could hardly be a 'secret'.
The stink has been over revealing that she was a covert CIA operative... not the fact that they used her maiden name when they did it. This isn't like a 'code name' or something... her maiden name would be a matter of public record. She apparently used it alot... liberal femi-nazi most likely.

Where did you find this? Who in the CIA admitted this?
It's not a bad cover - gives her reason to be there, access to contacts, diplomatic privileges, etc.
I know that. You know that. So does every government in the world. That was my point. Ambassadors family members and staff are always regarded by governments as potential spies.
