In July I was interviewing a senior administration official on Ambassador Wilson's report when he told the trip was inspired by his wife, a CIA employee working on weapons of mass destruction. Another senior official told me the same thing. As a professional journalist with 46 years experience in Washington I do not reveal confidential sources. When I called the CIA in July to confirm Mrs. Wilson's involvement in the mission for her husband -- he is a former Clitnon administration official -- they asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of an undercover operatives...

I believe it is significant he made this statement in a LIVE press conference, so it would be heard just as he stated it. There was also affirmation of the relationship with President Bush as Bush has described it.

I lean toward your individuals list. The statement was made in the style of a revelation. It wouldn't be a surprise to anyone if the usual suspect countries were involved.

I just googled Robert Novak himself. Rove was fired in 1992, but not from the national campaign, and not about Robert Mosbacher senior. Rove was fired from the Texas committee, about a leak regarding Robert Mosbacher Jr the son. The committee was called Victory 92. However, Novak denied that Rove was the one who leaked.

google is my friend. Just typed in Novak Rove Mosbacher 1992, and the first thing listed was Novak's column.

Thanks -- I thought Novak had cleared this up. I knew Rove wasn't fired from Pres Bush's #41 campaign -- it was something in Texas which turned out he was not the leaker anyways. I know people that worked the 1992 campaign and one of them never met Rove until 2000 so I knew Rove wasn't in that Presidential campaign but back in Texas.

You're right. And add to the Leak Syndrome the fact that reporters and "media experts" many times attend the same parties and functions where a lot of chatting is going on. (I stated earlier that Wilson is listed as a "Media Resource" by the Middle East Institute.)

It's truly an effort by the incestuous bunch to make President Bush and his administration look like liars with something to hide. Didn't work in July and it won't work this time. WE WON'T LET THEIR LITTLE SCHEME WORK, WILL WE, FREEPERS?
