In July I was interviewing a senior administration official on Ambassador Wilson's report when he told the trip was inspired by his wife, a CIA employee working on weapons of mass destruction. Another senior official told me the same thing. As a professional journalist with 46 years experience in Washington I do not reveal confidential sources. When I called the CIA in July to confirm Mrs. Wilson's involvement in the mission for her husband -- he is a former Clitnon administration official -- they asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of an undercover operatives...

Why is Novak attacking his own credibility? First he said Plame was an "operative." Now he claims he was specifically told that she was an "analyst" not an "operative." Why is he changing his story? What is he hiding? This stinks to high heaven.

According to the "media" this is why it is such a big issue today, rather than back in July, when the story broke. The media and all their "unnamed" sources are flat our liars.

All presidential trips are funded by the Pentagon. They are supposed to be sure that the Pentagon is not compromised by the travel arrangements or requirements.

There were times when the bent one forced military personnel to be 'stranded' because he commandeered the planes, etc.

The bent one never ever tried to coordinate his trips with the Pentagon, simply demanded, commanded, and disregarded the impact on the military.

Abdul Rahman al-Amoudi, a Board member of the American Muslim Council, and co-founder of The American Muslim Armed Forces and Veterans' Affairs Council,was arrested on as-yet-unspecified criminal charges at Dulles International Airport,after returning from London.

The American Muslim Council has been under investigation for furnishing money to terrorism, and the Veterans' Affairs Council, which helps the US military select Muslim chaplains,has become part of a broadening probe into the activities of Muslim service members at Guantanamo Bay, and elsewhere.

Al-Amoudi was identified in a 1996 Wall Street Journal article as a member of Hamas, and that had collected funds for the defense of one of the accused World Trade Center bombers. Nonetheless,according to author Steven Emerson,Hillary Clinton "worked closely with al-Amoudi".

The close relationship between the Clintons and al-Amoudi was traced back to 1995,when al-Amoudi was appointed a "Good Will Ambassador" to the Middle East. Once overseas, al-Amoudi was quoted as being thankful he could now speak freely, and he engaged in violent anti-American and anti-Israel rhetoric. Despite this, the Clinton administration gave him high marks.

The "close relationship" with Hillary Clinton seems to have continued. In June 2000,the American Muslim Council donated $ 50,000. to Mrs. Clinton's senatorial campaign, and al-Amoudi added his own personal contribution of $ 1000.

The American Muslim Council donation was reported to the Federal Election Commisssion as a gift from "The American Museum Commission".When the discrepancy came to light, the Clinton campaign claimed the false entry was a "typographical error"; and eventually, the contribution was returned.

Al-Amoudi came to attention again on 6/26/01, after being arrested during an anti-Sharon protest at the White House.

On 9/11/01,while the United States was reeling from the attacks of violent Muslims,al-Amoudi was one of several influential Muslims who rushed sizeable contributions to the Cynthia Mc Kinney for Congress campaign: earning her lone opposition to American retaliation.

I agree - and if I remember correctly, it was Bill Clinton who went on the Larry King Show and basically told the democrats to SHUT UP about the Niger issue. Maybe now we'll find out the truth.

And .. when the person is found who did leak the name - they will be out of a job - which the President has already said would be the outcome.

Brit hasn't read this thread was the impression I got. They reported the denials by the White House and the accusations by Schumer et al. dissapointing. They did point out that this matter has been in doj hands since july.

Absolutely...anyone who thinks this will blow over fast is deluding themselves. The press and Democrats will not let go...the only thing we have going in our favor is the crescendo building in California. This "scandal's" legs must hold out for 10 days to get past the recall story. Unfortunately I think the legs hold out for a lot longer. This is the first scandal of any type for this administration and the dems and NYT won't let go because it all ties in with Iraq & WMD which won't go away. The facts don't matter.
