[history]
In July I was interviewing a senior administration official on Ambassador Wilson's report when he told the trip was inspired by his wife, a CIA employee working on weapons of mass destruction. Another senior official told me the same thing. As a professional journalist with 46 years experience in Washington I do not reveal confidential sources. When I called the CIA in July to confirm Mrs. Wilson's involvement in the mission for her husband -- he is a former Clitnon administration official -- they asked me not to use her name, but never indicated it would endanger her or anybody else. According to a confidential source at the CIA, Mrs. Wilson was an analyst, not a spy, not a covert operator, and not in charge of an undercover operatives...

'NOBODY IN THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION CALLED ME TO LEAK THIS'
You gotta parse the words... he said that they didn't call him. Doesn't mean that Novak didn't call them to get this info.

There is probably a team that works 24/7 to plot and plan all these attempts. Probably what bjclinton's office in New York does.
What is telling everytime something about their dirty deeds gets close to bubbling out they go crazy to divert attention. So what is really going on.

Agreed. And we thought Clinton was a bad man when he fired all of Bush 41's AG's......That was an act unprecedented in American history, and Clinton did it to save his own ass, because he was ALREADY under investigation by some of them.

Here is something to chew on..... Joseph Wilson handled Bill Clinton's 1200 person all expense paid trip to Africa in 2000, we tax payers paid billions for this trip, it tied up a large portion of our military to provide security for the Bent One and his Pear Legged Wife and that ugly Daughter of theirs. Joe Wilson was the one spending the money for the trip and now he's a millionaire, Ambassadors are usually not millionaires. Joseph Wilson and Clinton are close, and if there is anyone's records that needs a subpeona, it's Joe Wilson's. Now that he has once again brought this BOGUS accusation up, the Justice Department needs to thoroughly investigate this matter, including everyone Joseph Wilson was talking to in the weeks and months leading up to his all important trip to Niger

Now that the Justice Department is involved, we might just find Terry McAuliffe and James Carville in the NEWS very soon, and if they dig deep enough they will find Bill & Hillary under that last slmy rock they turn over.As this story broke over the weekend I had a very strong belief that the trail would at least lead back to Wilson. Now that the Dems have come out calling for an independent investigation I hope, at a minimum, the DOJ investigation continues. The Dems are beneath contempt for their recklessness and this could go a long way to expose them.

I think it's pretty clear that "agency operative" means "agency operative" not "agency covert operative," which is what the law applies to. Otherwise, the CIA would have been more forceful in telling Novak not to publish. It's possible that she was "covert" in the past and that's .what led to the gray area. Anyway this thing has Clintonian fingerprints, as in Clinton holdovers at CIA who are pissed at Bush. Wonder why it took Wilson almost a month to figure out a federal crime had been committed against his wife? Answer: because there was no crime, until some geek figured out it could be spun that way.

Media Shenanigans ping!
Read post 23 and never forget it for as long as the "mainstream" media continues to push this FALSE story!

You can imagine what the evening news will be tonight:
"A firestorm of controversy blew through the White House today as reports of criminal wrongdoing rose all the way to top levels of the Bush administration."
SENSATIONALISM! That's all it is, and nothing more.

Check out Joseph Wilson.
See what lobbies and other orgs he belongs to. Is he paid? Also his speaker-for-fees gigs.
Next, trace who donates to these orgs.
Not saying he's guilty of anything, but one might as well check...

You have been on top of this story from the very beginning, and you also pick up good aditional clues. Thank you!
Now, a DOJ investigation could subpoena bank records, couldn't they? Ha! Wilson is probably hoping that the DOJ does NOT investigate.
Thanks again for the additional information!

Clifford May says it wasn't a secret, at least in inner circles that the wife worked at the CIA.
Now I'm back to reading avidly because I've jumped in mid-story and missed it at the beginning.
What a whopper!
