Hello again, and thank you all for such a warm welcome! All in all, today was pretty good and I had fun. I like a good argument, particularly when I have truth and facts rather than emotion and "fluff" with which to back myself up!

Here is the run-down of today's events. I apologize for the length, but I want you to have the full picture. Let me say also that I AM GLAD I DID IT! It is an experience I will never forget. Further, I don't think it is something I would have done without knowing the Freepers engage in such activity across this country for conservative causes. Though I just joined, I have been aware of the famous "Freepers" for quite some time. Thank you all!

We arrived shortly after noon. There were quite a few cars parked around the church and a few people hanging out, looking at their watches, talking on cell phones, etc. The church is situated at a four-way stop. Mom and I parked just south of the church right next to the stop sign. As we were sitting there talking, five nazis walked by us and across the street to stand in front of the church. About that time, people in yellow shirts with UFCW on the front and back started walking up. A cop showed up and I suggested to Mom that we get our signs out and establish ourselves on the corner. As soon as we started putting up signs, the nazis started cheering and came over, bringing all their stuff with them. At that point, I could only assume they were nazis. I didn't know for sure. One man walked up, said hello and asked what organization we were there with. I said we weren't with any organization, just non-liberal, concerned citizens. Anyway, I then asked him who they were with. His reply, "We're with the National Socialist Party." I bluntly told him, "Well, I don't like you guys." I told him, "I don't like socialists and I certainly don't like Nazis." and then I said, "Do NOT unfurl that flag with a swastika on it." To my amazement, he laughed! He said that they weren't there to start any trouble, but just wanted to make their voice heard. He said he had already spoken with the police and had promised to just walk away if anything untoward happened. He said he was simply surprised to see other protesters. I said I certainly understood that. There was one girl with them (red hair) who WAS a trouble-maker and he described her as "their troublemaker." When she started yelling at the cops, asking them why they were protecting criminals instead of arresting them (very valid question), I decided that I didn't want to stand next to or be associated with them. Mom and I moved across the street, taking the signs we were holding and a couple more. The Nazis just stood the signs I had left over there up along the fence behind them.

The local news station, Channel 8, was there and interviewed me. So did the Indianapolis Star and some reporter with a Catholic newspaper. At one point, I walked over to the front of the church where an officer was standing with the Invader supporters. He was the only one there at that time who was out of his car. I tried to shake his hand, but he wouldn't take my hand. He just looked at me and said, "What can I do for you?" I wanted to point out that we (Mom and I, the only ones to show up out of the original five) weren't there to cause trouble and that we certainly weren't with the Nazis. He said, rather forcefully, who are you here with? I asked him what he meant by that. He simply repeated, "Who ARE you here with?" I said, "I'm here with my mother." He just said, okay, thanks. He was a prick, IMO. Thankfully, the others all seemed pretty nice and I thanked them one by one for being there.

More Invader supporters started showing up. It seemed like they ALL came over and took pictures of me and Mom, the "hatemongers." I imagine our pictures will be showing up on some socialist websites soon as ignorant racists. Things were pretty calm until the tolerant, illegal alien loving bunch started yelling at my Mom. There was intense yelling back and forth for a bit. They finally shut up and things calmed down again. They were yelling the typical bullsh*t stuff....You're a descendant of an immigrant! We're all descendants of immigrants! We need these people in our country to do jobs Americans won't do! BLAH BLAH BLAH I had to calm my Mom down at one point. I said, "Mom, they're trying to get your goat. Don't let them do it. Let the signs speak for themselves." I taped some exchanges between the Nazis and the pro-criminal group. Oh, the liberals all claimed that the facts I had written on my signs were wrong. I told them if they didn't like them to take it up with the Center for Immigration Studies, the Census Bureau and the CIA because THAT is where they came from. That shut them up.

I remembered that I had made a sign which said, "Honk if you support ending illegal immigration." It was still over with the Nazis, but no one was using it. So I brought it over with Mom and I and started holding that sign. I kept switching signs because I had made so many, but it was up to Mom and I to make sure that people read them. There was a surprising amount of traffic through this small neighborhood and being at a four-way stop was an EXCELLENT opportunity to use the Honk sign. People started honking when they came by. I would point the sign at the cars as they were approaching and you could see the people inside reading it. They'd give a thumbs up and honk the hell out of their horns! Then everyone on "our side" (against illegals) would cheer and yell THANK YOU! and GOD BLESS AMERICA! One black man sat there and honked his horn for a good five minutes! He said "they're already ruining the country and they want more? I'll honk my horn!" and damned if he didn't! I ran out and gave him a huge high-five. At the very least, 90% to 95% of the cars driving by, whether driven by black or white, honked their horns. The libs didn't like that one bit! I took the opportunity to remind them that this only reinforced all the polls which suggest that the majority of Americans want illegal immigration stopped.

The libs and the Nazis kept getting into yelling matches. I listened to the libs all I could before I started yelling back. One had said that they LOVED this country and anyone who wanted to be here had a right to. THAT's when I lost it. I screamed at him, "You say you love this country but allowing MILLIONS in is only HARMING our country. They're straining our resources, they're straining our educational system, they're straining our tax dollars and causing urban sprawl. Don't tell ME you love this country when what you're doing is RUINING IT! You're nothing but a hypocrite!" For some reason, he didn't have anything to say to me after that.

More people gathered on the Invader side (the bus ran late and arrived at 2:20 instead of 1:15) and just before the buses arrived, one loud mouthed lady stepped out of of the pro-alien crowd and said to my Mom who was holding the "honk" sign by that time, "Excuse me ma'am! I didn't mean to honk at you. I didn't realize you were a bigot!" I dropped my camera and yelled, "EXCUSE ME? What part of wanting this country's laws enforced makes her a bigot? I didn't realize YOU were such an IDIOT!" She ran into the middle of the crowd then....just took a pot-shot and ran away. HA! At this point, the Nazis on the other corner started yelling, "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? WE are the bigots and we're PROUD OF IT! Those two ladies aren't bigots for caring about their country! Do you even know what the word means?"

Probably three minutes after that episode, the buses pulled up. Their supporters made a human wall between those getting off of the bus and those protesting. They disembarked, walked straight up the sidewalk and into the church. Their supporters were cheering them as though they were heroes! It was disgusting. My Mom was booing and yelling "Criminals!" I was trying to hold my sign and video tape it at the same time. THAT is not advisable. As soon as the illegals were all inside, their supporters started walking to their cars. They were gone in five minutes. I would say the illegals' supporters amounted to about 35 to 50 at the most.

I would suggest that if anyone can make it to a protest, be SURE to make a Honking sign because that way you get positive feedback. It can sure make your day when you're being faced with nothing but lies, distortions and accusations.

We left at almost 4:00 as I had to get home for the kids' soccer game. Even though I'm exhausted (standing up for hours when you're pregnant is a chore!), I am so glad I took the time to actually DO SOMETHING!

Our family vacation in June took us to the Hill Country of Southern Indiana. Visited the Lincoln home and Holiday World Amusement Park. We had a wonderful time, every place we visited was clean, and the people were great. It seems like the folks there are getting along pretty good without illegals.

Honk signs work when they address what the citizens really care about! That response was heartening! Bless them all!

I think everybody is tired of having their pockets picked for subsidizing that "unCHEAP labor."

After re-reading my report of events at the protest on the 29th, and after being contacted privately from one of the protesters of the Nazi group, I wanted to publicly clarify a few things.

I know very little about the Nazis other than what I've seen on television in news reports, etc. I am smart enough to realize that the picture given the public by the media is, at the very least, skewed and, at the most, intentional lies.

I wanted to clarify that the group which called itself the "National Socialist Party" at the protest was comprised of very polite, very articulate and very considerate human beings. I realized after receiving a very nice and thoughtful private reply that I make it seem as though they are objects or something other than human in my report of events. I apologize for this. They are men and women, some have children, and they are deserving of respect. They did nothing to deserve my disrespect. That came about as a result of my limited knowledge of them and the fact that they have basically been portrayed as monsters in the media for years.

They were very nice, had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed the discussions we had even though they were very limited. Any discomfort I felt being around Nazis was a result of my OWN internal bias and certainly not because of anything they did.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm not going to go join the Nazi party, but I'm not going to continue to think of them in the same way I have for years. I will no longer view them as monsters, waiting to beat the crap out of anyone who dares disagree with them. This protest opened my eyes in many ways and this is just one more learning experience I've gained.

I just wanted to clarify my remarks to everyone and apologize to those whom I might have offended with my remarks.
