Bush didn't declare war against Islamic religion. He declared war against the members of terrorist organizations using Islamic religion as a cover for conducting extorsion and murder.

I know of exactly one prominent Muslim who is doing this: Sheikh Abdul Palazzi of Italy, a great and good man who is a vocal supporter (yes, supporter) of Israel and vehement opponent of terrorism. I hope there are more, but I don't know them.

Once, late at night, the thought occured to me that the way to end Islamist violence would be to make Sheikh Palazzi the Caliph of all Islam. It might not be a panacea, but I still think it's a good idea.
