You forgot to add "but he's the best man for the job" after each one. Also the "he can't win" chorus began as soon as Tom announced.

Only a 12 more days and we'll know the answer for sure........

CA Conservatives are rejecting McClintock by over 70% according to some polls....... Why is that.... What do they know?

Your condemnation of Indian money smacks of Racism and Envy. Before advent of Indian Casinos, most California Indian tribes were impoverished. They possess plenty of money now. Let them spend it how they want.

Not all... but according to some polls 70+% aren't giving him their support ..... Who knows maybe in 12 days they may, but that's kinda doubtful imo. It will be interesting to see what the exit polls show......

Boy will you be surprised if McClintok wins. Anything can happen between now and Oct. 7. Arnold could have a heart attack.

from NEWSMAX.COM:
Issa said that McClintock had admitted to him that it was unlikely he could win a one-on-one race for governor.

"It's incumbent for the one who can't get to a majority to drop out," Issa said. "If Tom is still in the same position, with about half of what Arnold has, he's the one who will have to make the hard decision."

PhiKapMom, from the great state of Oklahoma, wrote:

That is why I would never support McC -- he is a phoney and has a bunch of folks fooled. I will support a more moderate Republican everytime when I sense the "principled" conservative is nothing more than a shell! Even McC said that he would do nothing about abortion while Arnold wants parental notification. Now who is being "principled" then?

As part Native American myself, I am annoyed when someone implies that Indian money being spent on a candidate's behalf is corrupt, or unprincipled, or whatever you are trying to imply.

I think I could easily say "racist", but there are so many other illogical positions that PhiKapMom takes, it would detract from pointing out other problems with her attacks on a principled conservative from her safe, out-of-state vantage point.

In PhiKapMom world, anyone who is for McClintock must be a political enemy of Arnold and therefore an ally of Bustamante.

I guess that makes Gun Owners of California, Gun Owners of America, WorldNetDaily (Joseph Farah), Michael Reagan, and the California Republican Assembly "unworthy" of her support as well.

I ask PhiKapMom here and now-- Do you or do you not support these individuals and organizations, and do you or do you not believe in their conservative and/or libertarian bonafides??

Too often in PhiKapMom-world, down is up, and up is down. Arnold is a liberal, but that is good in PhiKapMom-world. Chicks will stoopidly vote for Arnold based on his early nude photos alone, but that is good in PhiKapMom-world. NRA frequently refrains from involvement or compromises on gun rights, but that is good in PhiKapMom-world.

I have yet to find any redeeming conservative or libertarian value, from a FR point of view, that PhiKapMom brings to this forum, based on her opinions as expressed in the Tom/Arnold debates on FR. She attacks anyone with the temerity to disagree with her civilly with ad hominem. PhiKapMom saves old magazines with photos of nude Burt Reynolds. Someone here is an embarrassment to her state and her gender. Why any conservative would pay any attention to PhiKapMom's inarticulate expressions of support for Rockefeller Republican Trojan horse candidate Arnold is beyond my comprehension, unless they are of the same (liberal) mold as her.

I do not believe we have the time to make the case for McClintock. This situation is not just serious it is critical. The total control of this state in the hands of the Democrats is a disaster. If California is to survive we must put an end to their control.

I work in an industry that depends on the condition of the economy. Idealogical purity will not be worth anything in the wasteland that will be left if we don't move this state to the right of where it is now even if it is only half way to where we would like it to be.

So this poll still states Tom is the second Republican choice...

No surprise.

After this race, expect him to be the invisible man!

If I thought I were getting a third of what I want in a governor I would pull the lever for AS without so much as a whimper.

Tom's numbers will slide near election day as the logical and conservative people in Tom's camp come over to vote for Arnold for the good of the party and state.

Desperation is an ugly emotion.

This poll suggests Arnold can win handily and Tom would tie.

It's funny how TomBots have been saying all along the polls didn't matter until they finally found one they agreed with. lol!

Tom is the most qualified conservative in the race. I find it hard to believe that Arnold doesn’t have one or two skeletons in his closet but his Kennedy connections might be enough to stop them from being used.

As we all know, California has been completely in the control of the left and it’s sad but this really was the golden opportunity for America to really see and debate the issues that separate the left from the right, instead we get Schwarzenegger entering the race, muddying the waters and distracting the electorate from the real issues whilst the mainstream media focuses on his personality. Why should they cover McClintock talking about how he will actually fix the problems when instead they can run with Arnold Schwarzenegger, world famous film star?

If we run with Schwarzenegger he will have redefined the so-called “electable” platform of the Republican Party. It will be a pyrrhic victory at best and an hollow defeat at worst. I see nothing in Schwarzenegger’s platform that will do anything to stop California’s inexorable descent into socialism.

Tom is the most qualified conservative in the race.

He may well be and at another time in another setting he may could win. But I don't think so this time.... Being the most qualified doesn't mean that he is the most electable under the circumstances. Witness the polling data showing him in 3rd......

Anyway it won't be long until we know how this all comes out..... for the better or for the worse.

take care
