"Tragically, the Greeks tell us, conflict will always break out -- and very frequently so -- because we are human and thus not always rational. War is "the father, the king of us all," the philosopher Heraclitus lamented."
Thanks for the link
I am of the opinion that history can be divided into 3 phases
1 Getting ready to fight a war
2 Fighting a war
3 Recovering from fighting a war
And so back to 1
A bit simplistic but still valid.

Brian Lamb needs a winner. Sunday, he had an author talking about assassinations at the turn of the last century. Great subject but the guy put me to sleep and I think Brian wanted to shoot himself. I've heard Hanson speak. It will not be boring.
I'll be out of town. Have fun with your thread.

Sounds like Mexico should be part of the "Axis of Evil" club.

A good hour. Hanson is clearly a brilliant man, just as one would expect.

He sure is. As I was listening last night, with a few distractions, I couldn't help but wonder if there isn't a high post in the Administration for him should he want it? He spends a considerable amount of time on the East Coast teaching at the Naval Academy anyway.
Also, I missed what was behind the confrontation between he and the short senator from California (name escapes me at the moment) just prior to the taping of this program in August.
Bump for a replay coming up in about 15 minutes.

It was a staffer from C-Critter Pelosi's office. Hanson was briefing a group in the Longworth Building when a Pelosi aide stood up and basically called Hanson a racist for even discussing immigration policy and then "stormed" out of the briefing room.
To: leadpenny
I was unaware of the incident with Pelosi's aide. Interesting. Huffy moral preening is a core skill of Democratic staffers on the Hill.
