I agree, and there is a very noticable increase in sea surface temperature on the last segment.

Once you get the cat in the carrier then it is real easy to give one a bath. The problem is when you have to let them out of the carrier after the bath.

Post #1023, plus tipe-lapse imagery post #995. Observe the frames from around 22:15 to 00:15 Z and you can definitely see some major changes going on in the vortex, plus substantial increases in moisture content to the NW (right over the gulf stream. The data suggests that the barometric pressure is dropping and an eye is reforming. (At least as I understand that data, I could be wrong.)

perhaps the subspace nutrino infusion is finally taking effect.

,kids are celebrating!Kids don't have quite the same perspective as their parents - worried about property, safety - in these situations, do they?
To: cajungirl
They won't celebrate when the power goes out and they are stuck inside with no video games,TV or computer. =)

Thanks! I've been following that image in #995, but didn't know quite what to look for.

Stay safe then. The showman Whorealdo is on a beach in NC reporting that Izzy is packing winds of 105 miles per hour and 160,000 in NC and VA have been told to evacuate.
To: NautiNurse
Looks like she is tightening up again, with some increased convection. Hey, take that sort of suggestive talk to the Kournikova threads!

How many hurricanes have you been through? When you have been through one like Fran or Hugo then you can come here and say that 70 mph or greater SUSTAINED winds ( I think Fran's winds lasted about 8 or so hours here ) aren't bad. Granted, you may have tornadoes in your neck of the plains but they are generally over in a minutes. I am personally inviting you to come here and sit this onme out on the coast for the duration. You will go home a changed person. I promise you that.
To: steveegg
We have no water. Would you like a nice game of global therm... oh wait. Yes, sir. We'll be right with you.

Stay safe down there, youngster! My kids and I are thinking about our friends we left behind in Rocky Mount in '92 and the new ones we've met from here on FR.

FWIW, I lived in California for over 25 years and while I never experienced a Hurricane, there we several years where we did get Hurricane Force (74+MPH) winds.

Putting a cat in the carrier is only second to giving a cat a bath. You're kidding. I have Siamese cats...no trouble at all. Set the carrier on end, door side up. Open door. Suspend cat about 12 inches or so above opening. Release cat, and let gravity do its job. Shut door before cat recovers. Works every time. End of story.
