Taters and Corn are considered starches by dieticians and not officially allowed to be lumped into the vegetable category (for those trying to adhere to the food pyramid rules).

Okay, you are going to have to put the sheet back on. Do you really thing SJL worries about them being cooked in animal grease? Really, do you think she thinks that far ahead?

"This woman is a disgrace to black people nationwide."

Actually, she is a disgrace and a danger to ALL Americans.

The folks who elected her - must be unbelievably ignorant or "Enemies of State"...

I would love to know the source of ALL her contributions or gifts...

Semper Fi Semper Fi

"Sheila Jackson (D-TX): "I never had the chance. I'm on a vegetable diet myself."

I heard she switched from fried chicken to chicken fried steak and watermelon. In that way she only counts the melon.

Also, while she is eataing her melon she is worried about hurricanes not being named after Blacks --- a real BIG concern in the Black community!

You do not want to see the contraption they use to make Baby Oil.

or in canola, olive (?) or peanut oil...

'course the best ones are from McDonald's, but I understand they don't use any lard anymore...PETA got 'em on that, but they're still a very tasty "frenched" tuberous vegetable...LOL!!!

What I want to know is, what was Mr. Cavuto's response to Rep. Jackson-Lee's "freedom fries" answer?!?! (maybe, "shirley you eat home fries?") heheheheHE!!

I was just fixin to point out that potatoes really are vegetables despite several people saying otherwise. I decided to read down to make sure no one else had already done so and noticed your post.

You said it better than I could have so will not repeat the fact.

Before someone tries to say the word is potato, not potatoe, the plural is potatoes which gives me the opportunity to say that despite the fact that I know how to spell the word, if someone had given me a list with the spelling on it, I would have done the same as Dan Quayle and just assumed that was the right way to spell it.

What makes them "French fries is the technique of cooking them; they are cooked twice, once at a low heat, removed and cooked at a much higher tempeture until crisp. The animal fat does not make them or not make them a French fry!

I wouldn't be posting about sheets over the head right now. Wouldn't want to give the Fresno Human Relations Commission any odd ideas;{)

Please don't call her Shirley. You're confusing her name with one of America's finest (and most brilliant) writers. Remember "The Lottery"?

I'm with you and Dan Quayle. I always have to pause when I write the word potatoe potato. Frankly, I can probably do starchy tuber.

..which are usually fried in animal fat

Where?

I haven't been able to find anyplace that uses lard for cooking fries in a couple of decades.

I hate fries cooked in vegetable oil.
Is it just California that has done away with real American food?

Let me know where they still make fries and pies with lard, and I'll move there!
