I'll take hurricanes any day over earthquakes!
The thought of the ground not being in the right place scares me to death!
I've seen 45' seas with rogue waves much higher.
That's pretty hairy, especially at night, but the thought of the ground moving is a whole different nightmare.

Space snap

Astronaut Ed Lu snapped this photo of the eye of Hurricane Isabel from the International Space Station on Sept. 13. At the time, Isabel was located about 450 miles northeast of Puerto Rico.

I'm with you,Tex. I'll take the typhoon/hurricane anytime if given a choice. A long time ago, I visited a friend of mine in San Fran. I was in the bathroom, to say the least, just brushing my teeth, ok. Then it struck. Of course, not realizing what it was I thought I was just feeling dizzy. Then my friend called me from her office and told me that there was a small bag near the door with some essential stuff and instructions on where to meet her sister and the rest of the family in case it got bad. Man, that was nerve-wracking!
