No. Smoking very rarely kills. Emphasema, cancer, stroke, ect... those can kill you. While smoking may be a contributing factor, it is hardly the root cause of death.

You might call ME hooked because I love to smoke so much! It's legal. I am on the right side of the law. It's the ANTI's that try to make me look like a pig. Well, guess what..........THEY are the true pigs in all of this!

No argument from me but I maintain that H2O and O2 are more addictive and deadly than smoking. H2O almost stopped me at 18 months. Smoking doesn't even make me cough. When I quit liking it I will quit. Smoking is not addictive. I know too many smokers who simply quit because they wanted to. If I ever want to I'll quit too. Howdy Shelion.

Smoking must really be a VERY big issue for you Joe. You most certainly are rabid about the topic. Do you have children Joe? If so, do you honestly want them to smoke?

Let me jump in on this one. There is a BIG group of Freepers that are VERY rabid about this topic. How long have you been apart of Free Republic? We have the Smoker's Lounge each week, and we all post the nasties being done to the adults who choose to smoke a legal product.

I don't know about Joe, but I raised a beautiful daughter who now has a babe of her own. She started smoking at 16, as well as I did. She was brought up with my hubby and I, who both smoked.

I smoked during pregnancy, smoked in the maternity ward, as well as many other mothers, and I was a nursing mother who also smoked. My daughter never had any child hood diseases and surely never had ASTHMA! She is as healthy as healthy gets. She lifts weights, works out on a regular basis IN THE GYM and yes, she smokes. Since her hubby is Air Force, they do not smoke around the baby.

They take turns going out onto the balcony. They do NOT want to be turned in for smoking around their baby, since the nanny's will turn them in. It's a damn good thing this was going on when I was giving birth!

My daughter smokes......my daughter enjoys a beer or two. Does my daughter do drugs? NO! Does my daughter beat her spouse? NO! Is my daughter a Christian? YES!

We have way too many nanny's in this world trying to dictate to the rest of us how we are to live our lives. Sorry to disappoint you, but it 'ain't gonna happen' my friend.

Why not just leave us all alone. Everybody dies eventually, and 99% of all deaths really suck. Since chances are we'll die in misery and pain whether or not we smoke what's it really matter. Live life to the fullest, enjoy the fruits God has put on this earth, and don't fret about things that don't matter. Whether or not other people smoke is definitely something that doesn't matter.
