No. However, they can be impeached by the House of Representatives and tried in the Senate.

Federal judges may not be recalled. They may only be impeached, convicted and removed by Congress.

Federal judges cannot be recalled.

They can be impeached by Congress, but that seems to require official malfeasance (fraud, bribe-taking, etc.).

These bozos need to be recalled. They don't reflect the will of the people. They are a waste of money and time - all their stupid decisions get overturned.

No. They're not elected, so there's no recall. They can be impeached, but I don't know if any federal judge has ever been impeached because of a decision made from the bench.

Our state judges go up for reconfirmation by popular vote every seven years or so, and that's how Rose Bird et al. got run out. Unfortunately in this case, federal judges don't, they'd have to be impeached, and even more unfortunately, boneheaded stupidity and liberal bias are not in and of themselves high crimes and misdemeanors.

No - the only way to get rid of a fed judge is impeachement.

The founders never expected judges to wield as much power as they do, hence their positions being so safe from democratic interference.

Judge Rose Bird, was the anti-Death Penalty Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court. Not a Federal Judge.

Supreme Court Justices in California are given a set term of office then they have to run for re-election in the general election.

Rosie was trounced and sent home in the election of November of 1986 and left at the end of her term in January of 1987.

Federal Judges (eg. 9th Circuit) are appointed for life. A California Recall would not apply to them - they have to be impeached like Alcyee Hastings of Florida by the House of Represenatives. Of course Alcyee (sp?) then ran for the house himself and is now referred to as "My Good Friend" by the republicans who impeached him.

Our political system is sick and has been for a long time.

I'm afraid more drastic steps must be taken.....tax payments stopped, marches, sit-ins all seem to be the only choice to have these people listen (even then, who knows?). I do know it's time for people to stop taking this crap lying down. The apathy among the general public is so disappointing.

You may recall that I was predicting that the 9th circuit court would take the case and throw a monkey wrench in the works.

You will notice what the 9th circuit court has done. It has declared the recall election unconstitutional as planned based on the Supreme court Decision made in the Bush-Gore case in 2000.

Note also that the 9th has not imposed a remedy. Thus the supreme court must over rule its basis for ruling for Bush in 2000 in order to rule against the 9th in this case. If the 9th had imposed a remedy the Supremes could overturn the remedy with out overturing the other issues.

This ploy puts the supremes in a strange place. They know that if they overrule the 9th they will be charged with rulling one way for Bush and the opposite way for Davis on the very same issue. The national media would have a fun time with that.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Perhaps the supremes will not take the case, but rule it will get in the game if the remedy does not suit them.

I think it is working out much like I predicted 2 months ago. That the 9th would fix it so Davis keeps his job.

Everybody and his lawyer told me there was no way and no issue that could be used to get the 9th in the game. Lots of people told me I was a fool when I said the recall would not work.... I may still look foolish, but not quite as foolish as I did two months ago.

It is exactly like what I always say. The law is whatever the judges say it is..

The answer is "NO." Federal judges can be impeached and removed (like Representative Alcee Hastings) by the House and the Senate

"Is there a law that would allow recall of Federal Judges?

If so, some of the Judges on the CA 9th Circuit Court really should be recalled.

"

No, Federal judges cannot be "recalled." They can be impeached and removed by the Congress, but that's not going to happen. They have rendered decisions that are unpopular with a lot of people, but that, in itself, is not cause for impeachment, I'm afraid.

This Congress is not going to start impeaching Federal judges. It's just not going to happen.

Why is the party protecting Davis ??

Sending Sink Clinton to a black church is their "big gun."

They must be worried.

Here's another silly question. We voted on this election machine crap two years ago. Why the hell does it take so long. Sorry, I forgot it's the government we're talking about.

Maybe it's time for Congress to use their constitutional powers to disband the 9th Circuit.
