So sad. Can't say this was a surprise at all though. He's been in really bad health for about three years, then his wife died a couple of months ago. I expected this to come soon after.

I remember back in 1970, Cash visited the White House and President Nixon asked him to sing "Welfare Cadillac". Cash refused.

He's with June now.
She was a customer at the shop where I worked in the early 90s, he was always with her, and I swear they were the NICEST people you'd ever want to meet. I'm very sad.

Back about '71 I had a ticket to see him in Rochester, but he got sick and cancelled. Always much regretted that.
RIP, Johnny, keep singin and strummin!

I Keep a Close Watch on This Heart Of Mine
I Keep my Eyes open all The Time
I Keep The Ends Out for The Tie That Binds
Because your Mine I Walk The Line
I Find It Very Very Easy To Be True
I Find Myself Alone When The Day Is Through
Yes, I'll Admit That I'm A Fool For You
Because Your Mine I walk The Line
As Sure as Night Is Dark And Day Is Light
I Keep You On My Mind Both Day And Night
And Happiness I've Known Proves That It's Right
Because Your Mine I Walk The Line
You've Got A Way To Keep Me On your Side
You Give Me Cause For Love That I Can't Hide
For You I Know I'd Even Try To Turn The Tide
Because Your Mine I Walk The Line
I Keep A Close Watch On This Heart Of Mine
I Keep My Eyes Wide Open All The Time
I Keep The Ends Out For The Tie That Binds
Because Your Mine I Walk The Line

A very dark day for music....sigh.
Johnny Cash was one of my musical heros along with the Carter Family.
I bet Heaven is hearing some sweet songs about now, and Johnny and June are together again in God's choir.
Thank you for all the great music Johnny!
