well I woke up Sunday morning
with no way to hold my head
that didn't hurt
and the beer I had for breakfast wasn't
bad so I had one more for dessert
then I fumbled through my closet
for my clothes
and found my cleanest dirty shirt

That is the one that has been going through my head all morning. Did he write it? Or Kris Kristopherson? (sp)

Last night, I listened to a few samples of that new June Carter Cash album "Wildwood Flower" on the Apple Music Store.

I'm just stunned about Johnny. There goes a giant. He had a lot of good things in his lifetime, but he has suffered a lot in recent years. Rest in peace, JC.

He's back with June Carter again. There'll be a lot of tears in Nashville tonight. And elsewhere.

Damn, first John Ritter, then Johnny Cash. A sucky night so far.

When my wife told me this morning at 6 I said it's that damn full moon...

Quite sad.....my wife was visbly upset this morning when she awoke me with the news.

Really only one true great left now from the old days who still has that legacy thing.....Ralph Stanley.

Mybe Merle too but I always considered him more of a 60s C&W artist.

Clover Bottom still has a huge mental health complex.

It was originally named for the Clover Bottom area below where the facilities are now in the plain by the Stones River near where it dumps into the Cumberland and where Andrew Jackson had his horse race track.

I saw him on the Larry King show recently. He looked bad, but I was so inspired by his optimism, his grace, his strength, his genuineness. He never complained once despite the fact that he was in such bad shape and could hardly see.

I always liked his music - that interview evoked a tremendous amount of respect for the man behind the music.

I'll miss the man in black...

Bless his heart. My first really favorite song was "I walk the line". He will suffer no more. I loved him.
