Please, I cannot bear to think of those people gloating over jobs on a day like today.

Yes, nothing less than a catastrophe will make me lower that flag to half staff again.

I don't remember when I was able to cry.It seemed somebody stood on my chest for a month until the tears would flow.

It's a start. I can think of one or two more countries, one the home of 15 of the murderers, that require attention.

I found this on a website with lots of poems and stories of Firefighters and such:
Fateful Day
As the sirens blared
The cloud of dust rose
From the fateful towers,
People screaming,
People dying,
As the rigs arrive,
In the midst of carnage,
Valiantly, like knights In shining armour,
They charge into the towers
Emotions in the back pocket
Their lives left at home,
To do their jobs,
The jobs they love,
People trapped,
Ghostlike figures stumble down past them,
But they continue to advance
Higher and higher,
To rescue what ever life was left,
As the tower began to collapse,
They still charged forwards,
With the knowledge,
People were still trapped,
Hoping to save their life,
They gave their lives so that many could live,
The family left behind,
Crying, saddened, but with a smile,
They proudly say,
He was a fire fighter,
He paid the ultimate price,
But died doing what he loved.

I'm crying this morning, unlike 2 years ago when I was unable to cry. It was the afternoon of Friday, September 14th before I ever shed a tear.I cried this morning when the pipers brought the flag to Ground Zero. I cried when the children's choir sang the National Anthem. I cried when the pipers played Amazing Grace. I cried when the children started reading the names--and harder when I realized these were the children of those who died on 9/11. I had to leave the house for a walk so I could compose myself.
But, like you, I didn't cry on 9/11. I was in too much shock. It finally hit me that Friday. Unfortunately, I was driving, so I pulled over and just let myself sob.
Then anger took over, anger and resolve.
NEVER FORGET. NEVER AGAIN.

Look at the black building in front of the fireball in this picture. My son was standing in front of it talking to me on the cell phone and describing the people who were falling from the first tower. I was telling him to get as far away as he could as fast as he could. (I was there in 93 and knew this was no accident) I had Imus on and could see live as the second plane banked in from the wsw. There was no time to tell him to get out. The plane hit and the fireball blew out the east side of #2. I knew my kid was standing right under it. He dropped his phone and ran. I didn't here from him again until three hours later. Meanwhile my wife was three blocks away and I coudn't get in touch with her either. It was the longest morning of my life.
I believe one thing...we can't kill these islamic bastards fast enough.
