It's those damn homophones, they get me every time...maybe I should be homophobic. hehehehe
Great rant.
on occasion I have flashes of intelligence. BTW, update on my schooling....I'm still maintaining a 3.95 average (dang stupid A- in one class or I'd have a 4.0). I'm proud of myself. :o)
It's not a "they" it's a "he"
The guy is amazing! He is a one man show, really makes use of the footpedals to get the whole band effect...but he does it well, not cheesey at all. If you pick up his CD "The Madrigals"...it has a bonus DVD with it and you can see him live, gives you an appreciation for how he does it. It's an EP with the DVD so it's only like $10 at most record stores. A few of my musician friends here recommended it to me and I've not been disappointed.
I don't know what genre I'd put it in. Eliminating the obviously "nots"...it's not country, not really jazz/blues, not pop...I don't know...I'd maybe compare him to a Craig Chaquico with lyrics (he's got a great voice), or a Juicy Lucy, Rikk Emmett, something along those lines.
Give him a listen...he's really good.

~& so on.
Well joanie, mike, greg, there ya have it in a nutshell.
Hell's bells, I guess that clears that up, alright.
Sure *pinpoints* this guy's niche for me. {g}
"...something along those lines."
HA!!
Yea but the *lines* go in all directions, Love!
...is she *precious*, or what.
To a certain degree, I agree with you; however, the Right must fight the tendency to want to backslide into reaffirming the legitimacy of the ever-expanding Federal Leviathan. I continue to hold great respect for Dubyuh for his principled stand in the War Against Terrorism, yet I am increasingly dismayed by his unwillingness to fight for his judicial nominees and his nonchalance in making significant progress in trimming back Federal domestic spending. This is a unique opportunity for the Right to make significant progress between now and 2008, but only if the Bush Administration and the Congressional Pubbies rededicate themselves to curbing the out-of-control growth of the Federal Leviathan!! If the GOP doesn't take advantage of this opportunity, I fear a substantial portion of the principled RightWing will come to see the Republican Party as a weak-sister extension of the BigGuv'ment DemonRAT Party.
RINOs be damned, we need the Right to take back the GOP before Americans can retake America!!

They *do*???
>?<
OK.
I'm envisioning a set headphones with one earpiece missing, y'know.
"...maybe I should be homophobic."
Now be honest Vic, really think it'd help as much as some acquring another more productive, desirable phobia?
>Great rant.
"on occasion I have flashes of intelligence."
You're an extremely bright young Lady, make no mistake about that.
That you could piss me off so completely, so resoundingly with so few words proved that much.
"BTW, update on my schooling...I'm still maintaining a 3.95 average (dang stupid A- in one class or I'd have a 4.0). I'm proud of myself."
As well you should be proud; because, you *earned* the right.
Now make damned sure your youngster's watching your hard work & earned recognitions that're coming your way like a hawk, y'hear?
BTW, you said I was "witty" the other day, remember?
So this morning I made some crack to my bride & what does she say to me?
"I go to bed with Attila & wake up with Groucho Marks."
HA!!
I'd say after 30 years she's a firm handle on the situation, wouldn't you agree? {g}
Now as to this music you've been listening to?
I've a suggestion to make.
Methinks your repertoire needs work kid, call it more "diversity" if ya please.
So why don't I do for you what I've done for other of our friends here at Black & rip you some real red meat to sink your ears into?
Game?
Respond to me via freepmail with the particulars & we can get started bringing you up to speed.
...& putting some *real* flair into your life. ;^)
Ummmm, *yea*.
I guess.
...sorta. :o)
ROTFL...Homophone (n) one of two or more words pronounced alike but different in meaning or derivation or spelling. ie: do, due, dew or in my previous example break & brake. ;o)
I have a funny story about the word "homophone"...in my business writing class the professor couldn't figure out what the phrase/word was for that scenario (two words sounding alike but different), so he turns and asks me...just like he did when he couldn't answer one of my classmates questions about when to use whomever or whoever or which v. that. *rolling eyes* No wonder I received an A+ in that class, I should have been teaching it. That was my first career desire, to teach English in high school or college. I still may some day.
Now be honest Vic, really think it'd help as much as some acquring another more productive, desirable phobia?
Hmmm, the only thing I fear is not having fun in life! :o) I just find it funny in this day and age that we use the word "homophobic" to describe the fear of gays...broken down to it's roots...homophobic would actually mean the fear of the same? (or something like that) Our language and the way it develops is hysterical.
You're an extremely bright young Lady, make no mistake about that. That you could piss me off so completely, so resoundingly with so few words proved that much.
Yes, and I'm glad you forgave me, I've missed you! Don't worry, I annoy my boss too...he loves me to death and is annoyed by me at the same time, which is why he's always kept me 200 miles away from him! :o) He'll miss me when I'm gone, though. I'm like a bad habit...addicting and annoying. LOL
As well you should be proud; because, you *earned* the right. Now make damned sure your youngster's watching your hard work & earned recognitions that're coming your way like a hawk, y'hear?
Through tears, prayers, stress and hardwork, that little troubled one has made a 180 this summer and her grades have improved dramatically. She has larger than life goals and I fully encourage them. They are both outstanding youngsters, I am blessed. I just wish the littlest one would advocate her thrown as the princess of whine-a.
I'd say after 30 years she's a firm handle on the situation, wouldn't you agree?
Sounds like the missuz is a very intelligent lady. ;o)
Methinks your repertoire needs work kid, call it more "diversity" if ya please. So why don't I do for you what I've done for other of our friends here at Black & rip you some real red meat to sink your ears into?
I'm game...you'll have some FReep mail. I love diversity...and you'd be amazed at how diverse my music catalog is..mostly because of friends with great taste that keep opening my eyes to new & wonderful music. I'm always up for trying new sounds.
Hence, my offer.
My saving Grace has been my long memory & the recordings I've been collecting/accumulating for longer than you've been on earth.
That'll translate for the youngsters [read: you] that even though the music may be old, it's also "classical" insofar as what's been performed really knows no time, no limits, no season.
Truly ageless.
So "old" or not, to the ears who've never heard so much of the material out there it's in reality to them, "new."
In that sense here's one of those rare instances in life where "What goes around, comes around" is indeed a very good thing.
Music is in & of itself very much like people in some important ways with one of the more ways rather subtle.
...both may be reborn.
Yep...me, too!! However, the threat of an exodus is the Right's most powerful weapon at this point...no more going along to get along with the DemonRATS or we'll give up on the Pubbies!! Hopefully, we'll never get to that point...the upcoming signing of the Law to prohibit Partial Birth Abortion is a good step. Then, I'd really like to see some bills consolidating various social spending programs into lower-cost combined programs, then some devolvement of Power from the Feds to the States. The ideas are out there, now it's up to the Pubbies to get behind them between now and November 2004. If they do, I can foresee a Reagan'84-style landslide in 11/04 with coattails enuff to give the GOP a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate!!
FReegards...MUD
In 2004, the GOP will make the 'RATS think that election 2002 was a happy thing !They only THINK they lost big time in 2002 ! They ain't seen nuthin' yet !
Are the Dirty RATS shakin' in their boots? Anticipating the next 16 words November 2004??
The GOP gained seats in the House and the Senate.
Meantime, President Bush wins in landslide !
Yep...I can foresee a Righteous RightWing Tsunami a'buildin'!!
