"...with opponents fearing that acceptance could be seen as a sign of support for the American invasion."
The media dreams about the US being rejected by every political group in the world. There spin on Iraq exhudes this goal.

So much for the vaunted "Arab street".
We should graciously accept their surrender and give them the means to reform without us having to come in and lay waste to a tinpot regime.

"CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - The Arab League unanimously granted the U.S.-appointed Iraqi Governing Council a seat on the pan-Arab body early Tuesday - delivering a major boost to the Bush administration's post-war occupation."I hope they're celebrating because this is GREAT news.
For everyone but the Dems.

and it's important that we, as Arabs, deal with this transitional situation ... and support it, ``Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Osman Ismail told reporters. Sudan is with us!? Guess they forgive us for Clinton's Aspirin Factory. If Sudan is behind it...there's been some major s*$t going down diplomatically, well behind the scenes.
If Sudan is with us, can the RATS be against us? (/sarc)

Ah, the crescent moon - symbol of the pre-Islamic, human sacrificing demon-cult of Hubal. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Is this good news? I hope so. It's great news. The mainstream media will try to ignore or trivialize, but it's very good news. Amazing that the vote was unanimous.

Many elements of Hubal worship have made it into Islam.... Just like many elements of European Paganism made their way into Christianity. Easter = fertility holiday, Spring solstice. Christmas in winter = winter solstice. Yule log, druids. Christmas tree, druids.
Difference being that the Druids who converted to Catholicism via the Romans aren't still ritually sacrificing the young, while the Hubal/Ba'al/etc demon worshippers still are.
Next?

GREAT news! Thanks for posting this kattracks.
I hope McCauliffe and the Clinton Criminals have non-life threatening coronaries when they hear this! And Chretien and Chirac too.

Yes, but not as a symbol for a religion as the crescent moon was.

Don't underestimate this historical moment.
The Iraqi emmisary to the Arab League will be the closest thing to representing a real, democratic Arab state these theocrats, thugs, dictators, and potentates have ever seen coming from within their own region. When he / she (even better) walks in the door for the first meeting, that will be yet another strategic victory against the War on Terrorism. What they fear next is what a Free Iraq will do with their OPEC membership...
I'm actually surprised they let the Iraqis back into the Arab League.
