I graduated from Seaholm HS with Tim Allen (Tim Dick) in 1971. Was a large class and didn't know him. Also hung out with Christine Lahti's younger sister...all Seaholm graduates.
My brother went to school with that ultra liberal commentator...Michael Kingsley (?)
Anyone remember the Detroit riots?

Remember the Buick boat going down the Detroit river.
The hydroplane races on the river.
Twelfth floor at Hudson's was the toy floor.
New Era potato chips.
Blizzard of '64
Lafayette coney island hot dogs were the best.
Downtown was relatively safe.
Dirt bike riding at M59 and Opdyke.

Graduated Bloomfield Hills Lahser in '69
Went to Andover before Lahser was built
I lived on Woodward near Lone Pine in Bloomfield when the Nat Guard trucks were driving to the riots througout the night. Freaky. Then going downtown to see all the damage.
White Castle at 8 mile and Woodward 8 hamburgers at 96 cents a bag.
Drag racing on woodward or I75
Totem Pole on Woodward
Blue Sky
Ted's drive in at Woodward and Square Lake and Woodward
Drag racing on M59

Durchess,
My father, ( the Socialist ) was teaching biology at Seaholm at that time.
Heard all sorts of bad stories about Tim Allen.....LOL!
Oh yes, I remember the riots clearly. I was eight, and we walked to the end of the street to Woodward and watched Detroit burn... and smelled it.
