RENT "THE MECHANIC". ONE OF THE MOST OVERLOOKED AND UNDERRATED FILMS OF ALL TIME, AND ONE OF BRONSON'S BEST.

isn't this about 2 weeks old?No! Two weeks ago the article was Charles Bronson on his death bed. And I saw an Enquirer article saying his third wife would not let his first wife come to his death bed to say good bye.
Now he is dead.

Let's not forget his TV series, "
The Man With a Camera", which ran from '58 to'60.
The main distinction of that program, as I recall it (quite apart from the estimable Mr. Bronson!), was that it had one sponsor (Sylvania Blue Dot Flash Bulbs, believe it or not!), and had one ad at the start of the show, and another at the end. It was commercial-free TV, and that maybe why it finally went off the air. (Switching it from Friday nights (at 9 PM) to Mondays (at 10:30 PM) didn't help either...
Why don't they have shows (and stars) like that on any more?
Just wondering...

R.I.P. Charles Bronson.I was a big fan of Bronson movies I really liked the one about him and the Samurai I think it was called Red Sun.Just last week Death Hunt was on another great actor was in that movie Lee Marvin. Those old time actors cant be replaced by all the special effects and new girly actors they have today.

Let's not forget his TV seriesIn the early days, Bronson did quite a bit of TV work.
He was in an extremely memorable Twilight Zone with Elizabeth Montgomery (also passed now). He talked, she didn't, and there weren't any other characters that I remember (been a while since I saw it).
Bronson played the toughest of the tough, but always came across as having a good heart. Not an easy combo to play.
He will be missed.

I forget who played the lead in that series (
Then Came Bronson), but it had nothing to do with Charles Bronson. It ran about 1968 or '69.
As I recall, it was a fairly mediocre show that lasted on season. Could be wrong on that, tho...

Yea, they always forget that one.
IMO, it was his best.

Trivia question:
Which movies did his character NOT survive?

I never miss a chance to see Majestyk. I also like Assassination. Bronson, in fact. is such a presence, whenever he's on, I'm watching it clean through.

It seems like the quintessimal conservative movie, with a story about defending property rights and justice.
To: hemogoblin
I never would have guessed him to be that old--or to have married Jill Ireland in 1958 (more like 1968)....
