I've tried twice to type Kerry's words in response to Tim showing that Kerry used the exact same words as the president regarding going to war in Iraq.///I have failed, Freepers. For the first time, I truly cannot figure out Kerry's position on Iraq....I cannot figure it out.We share your frustration, so obscure...Foggy Outer Bank Time...rem: (elmer fund voice) "Fellingwing are SO IMPORTANT... typical liberal B.S. :|

Spmebody help me out on this Question Please.
Was Kerry Protesting the Nam War while US Troops were still Stationed there? Thanks
To: Alas Babylon!
Incredible! For the first time in the last 3 decades, Senator Kerry appeared on a major media show (MTP) and did not, not once, mention the word "VIETNAM!"
What's the world coming to?
To: skinkinthegrass; Peach
I disagree. I think his postion is clear:
1) He believes Iraq will be a failure ala Vietnam.
2) Therefore, turn all responsibility over to the U.N. (which of course GUARANTEES failure) so that the collapse of the country can be blamed on the "former" administration.
3) Protecting American soldiers is the main objective...unfortunately this also assures failure.
In a thumbnail, Kerry would turn the entire Iraq mission over to the U.N. and wash his hands of it. For this he would win plaudits from his party and the media: "He's mended international relations!".
Then he would turn his attention to domestic affairs, as if we can have a successful economy under terrorist threat.

Earlier on the TODAY Show, in a MTP promo, Russert said HILLARY will NOT run in 2004. Chris Mathews and Howard Fineman have said the same thing, and with the same clear certainty.
I believe them.
soundbite number 1: Kerry said George Bush has proven the presidency is not the place for OJT, and I have more experience than Howard Dean.

Thanks, I thought so but wanted to be sure..
Well Mr. Russert why are you not asking Kerry why he was protesting the Nam War while Our Brave troops were still there Fighting?
To: ReleaseTheHounds
At least FoxNews has Charles Krauthammer on the panel to insert some sanity following this inanity of Holbrooke. Were you also yelling at the tv when Tony let him go on and on and never interrupt him or question his outrageous statements? I really can't stand Tony anymore.

Holbrook is a Major Weasel. Wouldn't be surprised to learn that he was a member of that famous group at Yale Law school when Bill and Hill were there.

15 minutes in and he obliquely refers to being a "soldier on the ground", He's wised up...not saying "viet Nam", but still putting the word out that he's a military expert because of it.
SuzanneC just brilliantly blasted Tim Russert for not pressing Kerry on where he would make those military cuts he espoused. Kerry said we should have 2 new military divisions, and he would pay for them by....non-specific..."reductions". Way to go SuzanneC!

Who is SuzanneC? Sorry to have to ask. Since I don't usually watch MTP, I'm not always aware of the players. Thanks.

I love it!!! Russert is playing killer footage of Kerry on the floor...but of course he will say he was lied to by this administration. AND not surprisingly, added the evil name C H E N E Y, as the one responsible for the lies the senate was told.

Re your take on Kerry - I guess that's about it. You were able to wade through the BS far better than I could.
And re your last statement - hopefully the voting public will understand just what you said - without a strong anti-terrorism policy in this country - we need not worry about ANY domestic programs.

Kerry refuses to admit he was duped....that wouldn't sound good for a presidential candidate that he could be so easily duped.
LOL.....Russert is really going after him good...quoting Deborah Orin's Copy Cat Kerry!!!

"Kerry said George Bush has proven the presidency is not the place for OJT,..." The Dimms are STILL using this line?!
I can't tell if they're stupid or just plain mean, hateful people---but, I've heard enough from these dimms to last a lifetime.
This is going to be a long.... campaign. Think it's time to start hoarding Maalox.

I wonder if he knows what a jerk he sounds like.
