I've been doing some reading this weekend on brain injury, esp. anoxia (what Terri suffered),
and found something interesting. It seems that one of the most common effects of anoxia is AMNESIA, especially for what happened just before the brain injury.
Wouldn't that be IRONIC if Terri can't remember what happened to her shortly before her "collapse". It would seem that any sinister efforts by certain parties to hasten her death, in order to keep her 'quiet', would be unnecessary!
Here are a couple of links. There are many if you do a google search for "anoxia" "amnesia"
Retrograde Amnesia.
Retrograde amnesia is the type of amnesia most people think of when they hear the term. People with retrograde amnesia find it hard to remember things that occurred prior to an incident in which they incurred damage to the head. Sometimes people never remember the seconds leading up to the incident.
http://www.lef.org/protocols/prtcl-007.shtml Anoxic amnesia: Classic amnesia that may result from anoxia (total deprivation of oxygen) caused by acute cardiopulmonary arrest. With reinstatement of oxygenated blood flow, many patients now survive short periods of total brain anoxia. If the period of anoxia is sufficiently short, recovery may be complete, but if somewhat longer, recovery may be accompanied by persistent amnesia. The most prominent findings are cell loss in the hippocampus.

(God willing, Terri will live.)

This case is full of more ironies than one could imagine. I am surprised that CBS Sunday Night Movie people aren't trying to turn this into a two-part production.

A couple of comments on what Chris Reeve is doing from his wheelchair (even though he can't put a spoon to his own mouth) from CelebrityWonder.com
Paralyzed actor, Christopher Reeve, has accepted $2 million from American federal funds to establish an education resource center for people with paralysis and their families.
Reeve called on world governments to adopt a treaty protecting the rights of the disabled at a U.N. ceremony honoring Ecuador for its support for people with disabilities (Sept. 20, 2002)

A hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.

The consistent problem with medical journals/reports/findings is they are generalizations. The word 'may' is sprinkled very generously throughout their conclusions, because they are not conclusive, and can not be. A simple reminder to all medical researchers and practitioners who are a legend in their own minds - He is the final arbiter of life and death; health and disease.
Michael knows this, and he walks the path of a hunter who diligently covers his tracks.
