Not whatever. Conservatives should be asking why? Why do we continue to accept excuse after excuse from this or any other administration for wars based on misleading intelligence? We were told WMDs were there and it was of utmost importance to get there and force Hussein out of power so he couldn't use them. They searched for months, Kay comes out and promises he may tell us something in September. US troops have caught almost all of the 'deck of cards' folks and still nothing.

Then all of the sudden, out of the blue, 'intelligence' reports tell us, 'oops, they were moved four months before the war but we just didn't know why all those transfer trucks were moving'? What did they think it was?!?

There is actually (or at least before the war started) a tremendous amount of truck traffic between Iraq and Syria. If we could not verify that these trucks indeed carried Iraq's WMDs, would you have been okay with taking them out, four months before the shooting started?

"Why do we continue to accept excuse after excuse from this or any other administration for wars based on misleading intelligence?"

What excuses? I haven't heard any excuses. I've been for us going in from the get go, all of us here at FR believed and discussed in detail that Saddam had to be moving his weapons out of the country, just as he did his air force, that the Axiz of Weasels, all of which had huge financial stakes in Saddam's continued health and well being were buying him time, that the UN knew he had WMD and was covering for him to keep the Oil for Food cash rolling in, and also where he was likely to hide them.

This stuff was pretty much a given, especially considering satellite data of the bomb factories before and after dismantling by Saddam...obviously he wasn destroying the stuff.

That said this article could have been taken right from the threads on FR. I'd take it with a grain of salt.

Why don't you quit yer whining and join the human shield corps--gratuitous, teenage girl punctuation notwithstanding!?!! Your lack of depth is astonishing. Speaking of decks, your argumentative technique suggests the dealer shorted you several high cards.

What misleading intelligence? First, we haven't found the stuff that Iraq admitted to having. Second we gave them six months of explicit warning that we were going in to find them. If you add up all of the stuff that Powell said that they had, you could fit it into two large tanker-trucks, or dispersed into 55 gallon drums, two guys and a Cargo van could move it *all* by hand to any point in Iraq (or Syria) with only one trip a day in less than 100 days. The worst case of "misleading intelligence" is with the yellow-cake, where the reason for considering it "not reliable" is because part of the CIA figured that Iraq had already bought as much as they need from Niger, and didn't need any more.

I'd bet they thought they were getting ready for the 'Back-to-School' sales at Sears and JC Pennys.

What about those barges that were floated out into the Indian Sea, I think. They were floating around there somewhere and we were watching them for awhile, then nothing??? It might be a good place to look, for a change?

I don't know why we do, but it is a bad habit and we had better get out of it, before we end up in a war with Iran ... due to incontravertable evidence that President Khatami is the glutton type who has boxes of candy hidden under his bed. On current performance, any excuse will do, it seems to me.
